They work as trusted partners, creating better solutions and experiences for their customers, communities, and colleagues.Objective &amp; OverviewLafarge, Canada’s leading supplier of construction materials has an opportunity for a Quality Technician at our Meldrum Bay QuarryThe hourly rate starts at $27.92/hr and increases to $28.92/hr after the probationary period.Responsibilities<ul><li>Safety: &nbsp;Implementation of Lafarge Safety Policies, and Compliance with Government Legislation. &nbsp;Safety Induction of Visitors to Quality Lab or site as required. Execution of Job Hazard Analyses for QC Tasks, and implementation of Action Items. &nbsp;Execution and implementation of Lab/QC Safety Improvement Plans.</li><li>Aggregate Product Performance:&nbsp;Implement programs and processes to ensure compliance of all products with relevant Codes, Standards, and Specifications. &nbsp;Implement Lafarge Quality Program, including sampling, testing, reporting and follow up for all products as determined for each site of responsibility. &nbsp;Record, Monitor and communicate Aggregate KPI performance with key stakeholders as required – investigate variances from Plan and establish corrective actions as required. &nbsp;Participate in or lead the development and implementation of site specific actions to reduce and/or utilize long products, including innovating new combination materials. &nbsp;Provide input to ensure alignment between Sales and Operational staff to ensure product performance meets customer expectations</li><li>Physical attributes:&nbsp;While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel. &nbsp;The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb stairs &amp; ladders; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear and smell. &nbsp;Infrequently the employee is required to work in awkward situations; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch. &nbsp;The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. &nbsp;Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. &nbsp;Employee must perform work outdoors in all weather conditions, and will work around moving mechanical parts and equipment. &nbsp;Various PPE will include safety boots, reflective clothing, safety glasses, gloves and hard hat. &nbsp;Additional PPE may be required depending upon tasks.</li></ul>Relationship with Others:<ul><li>Reports to the area Quality Control Supervisor.&nbsp;</li><li>Works closely with Production Staff, Distribution Staff, and Sales Territory Manager</li></ul>Specific Accountabilities:<ul><li>Safety</li><li>Product Performance</li><li>Customer Service/Support</li><li>Product Quality Control and Performance</li><li>Troubleshooting</li><li>Cost Management</li><li>Quality Policies and Training&nbsp;</li></ul>Dimensions:Starting wage will be commensurate with skills and experience. Candidates must Possess Full G-class Driver’s License. &nbsp;Qualification Profile:Education &amp; Work Experience:&nbsp;<ul><li>Post-secondary education in Civil engineering or equivalent an asset</li><li>Ontario high school diploma (OSSD) or equivalent is preferred.</li></ul>Knowledge &amp; Skills:<ul><li>The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction materials (aggregates, asphalt and concrete) industry and have knowledge of quality control tests.</li><li>Should have excellent written and oral communication skills and capable of creating good relationships internally and externally with our customers.</li><li>Must also be able to work well as part of a team and independently.</li><li>Good computer skills for Windows based software.</li><li>Driver License, minimum G2.</li></ul> Work Environment:<ul><li>Must be able to work in outdoor and indoor work environments in all weather.</li><li>Flexible hours will be required which will include overtime and weekend work.&nbsp;</li><li>Able to perform a variety of tasks, including moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, carrying.</li><li>This role will require the handling of aggregates lab equipment.</li></ul>Lominger Competency Profile:<ul><li>Customer Focus &nbsp;</li><li>Managing Conflict</li><li>Problem Solving</li><li>Time Management</li><li>Interpersonal Savvy &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul>We thank you for your interest.
