They work as trusted partners, creating better solutions and experiences for their customers, communities, and colleagues.Overview<ul><li>Reporting directly to the Sales and Logistics Manager the incumbent will assist in the overall running of the Lafarge in-house carrier within Atlantic Canada.</li><li>The role encompasses the day-to-day business operations while helping budget and plan for its future through the use of data analysis and reporting on the cement market and sales performance.</li><li>This role manages the transportation needs through Albany and Cement Cartage.</li><li>The incumbent is expected to travel to local industry events, be involved in customer locations visits, meetings at the Brookfield Cement Plant as well as traveling to our operation located in Havelock, New Brunsick. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>Responsibilities&nbsp;Safety:<ul><li>Demonstrates a commitment to a safe work environment and understands the safety objectives of the organization, supporting these efforts in a visible manner.</li><li>Actively contributes to the implementation and compliance of Transport Canada and Lafarge Safety Standards. &nbsp;</li><li>Visit field locations to maintain contact with salesforce and customers to ensure duties of self and others are performed safely.</li></ul>Data:<ul><li>Establishing and maintaining clear insight on trends generating positive results and recommending improvements.</li><li>Establish data matrix to drive analytical decisions maintaining industry-leading customer experience.</li><li>Build and manage data dashboards to lead continuous improvement opportunities for current processes within the role to foster efficiency, and seamless customer service safely and economically.</li><li>Flush out new opportunities&nbsp;</li></ul>Relationship Management / Customer Service: &nbsp;<ul><li>The incumbent will ensure that relationships and processes around freight/transportation are effectively implemented and maintained; balancing the lowest cost against service and availability, while objectively ensuring a superior level of customer service and satisfaction.</li></ul>Performance Management:<ul><li>Development, management and reporting of relevant key performance indicators to drive performance of the transportation team.</li><li>Participate in studies to identify opportunities for improvement and puts actions plans together to achieve them with the goal to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the division.</li><li>Process Analysis: Track, and identify constraints and root causes, develop solutions, implement enhanced business processes, and refine resolution.</li><li>Management Cycle: Works closely with the management team to develop and incorporate standard processes/deliverables as part of our ongoing management cycle and strategy review processes. This includes Supply/Demand Plans, Freight</li></ul>Replenishment Plans, Strategic Framework, Rate Benchmarking and Review, Performance Plans, Budgets and Forecasts:<ul><li>Fleet management: Calibrate optimal fleet size and renewal based on forecast and improved efficiencies of fleet management. Track and monitor key expenditures, contribute to business planning and budgeting process</li><li>Human resources: Promotes a culture of performance to ensure superior customer service and the ability to deliver product on time and safely. Participate in union negotiations.
