They also follow all safety protocols and regulations while proactively addressing any issues that may occur during transit.</p><h2><strong>Work Environment</strong></h2><p>The Short Haul Driver role operates Monday to Friday, with occasional opportunities for overtime and on-call work.</p><h2><strong>A Day in The Life</strong></h2><p>The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li><strong>Safe Operation of Equipment:</strong> Operate roll-off hook trucks and trailers, as well as moffet trucks and trailers, in a safe and responsible manner. Ensure loads are properly secured and remain within legal load limits, while navigating various weather conditions and challenging job site environments</li><li><strong>Regulatory Compliance &amp; Inspections:</strong> Adhere to all applicable site and jurisdictional traffic safety laws. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of transport units and loads in accordance with jurisdictional and NSC standards. Accurately complete all required labels, including shipping name, generator name, approval number, TDG class, UN number, packing group number, load number, and related information</li><li><strong>Documentation &amp; Reporting:</strong> Accurately complete and submit all necessary documentation in a timely manner. This includes logbooks, equipment inspection reports, time tickets, manifests, trip records, and fuel and credit card receipts. Attend SECURE Energy safety meetings and ensure all daily safety paperwork is properly completed</li><li><strong>Adherence to Safety Protocols:</strong> Comply with all SECURE and customer-specific safety policies, procedures, and best practices always</li><li><strong>Effective Communication:</strong> Maintain clear and consistent communication with Dispatch daily to ensure efficient operations and high levels of customer service</li><li><strong>Preventative Maintenance &amp; Waste Inspection:</strong> Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks, such as greasing, air filter checks, brake adjustments, and settings.
