Apprentice Welder
POSITION SUMMARY
Apprentice Welders assist skilled trades people in welding, brazing, and thermal and arc cutting activities and perform labour activities at our various construction and project sites.
Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.
POSITION DETAILS
- Shop/Module Yard work
- Hours are 7am - 5pm, 50 hours/week
- Shop Location Crossfield, Alberta
CORE ACOUNTABILITIES
- Assist with pipe spool fit up
- Assist journeypersons with rigging and hoisting of spools
- Pipe cutting and end prep of pipe
- Bring material to fitters
- Assist welders with spool set up
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- A registered Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority or plan to pursue the welding apprenticeship program
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in various aspects of the trade
