Wells Construction a Division of Lafarge Canada Inc. is proud to provide construction solutions in the buildings, infrastructure and industrial segments. Wells Construction provides Construction services in the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas. Wells Construction is based in Edmonton, AB and is currently seeking seasonal, full-time Barricade Personnel / Traffic Control Personnel for our 2021 construction season starting in May.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas
- See Something, Do Something! Ensures safe working conditions in site
- Setting up and tearing down traffic controls.
- Ability to maintain a safe work area
Qualification Profile
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area
- Ability to operate an Double Axle Truck, Tractor Trailer, RMX Truck
- Knowledge of traffic safety, traffic flow, traffic controls, setups, tear downs, timelines of off peak hours and maintaining a safe work area for our workers and the motorists in the general public.
- Knowledge of road construction
- Ability to assist and or lead in barricading and traffic control set ups and tear downs
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the work as manual labour is required to complete these tasks
- The ability to work alone as this position will require situations where an individual would be alone
- The ability to interpret and fully understand a TAS plan for the projects approved traffic set up is also beneficial in this position.

Our job sites are located in various locations around Edmonton, which the applicant is required to have their own source of transportation. All posted positions involve road construction duties as well as operating of heavy duty equipment.
We offer COMPETITIVE WAGES with both regular time and overtime rates, in order to ensure job completion in a condensed work season.
All considered candidates will be subject to a driver's abstract review, and must pass a medical exam.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. As such, clearance on a pre-employment medical is required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of following safe work procedures and be able to complete field risk assessments.
