Control Systems Specialist (Automation Programmer)

Our growing company is currently looking to hire Control System Specialists to join our Automation & Programming team, based out of our Grande Prairie or Fort St. John office.  

As our Control System Specialist, you will be responsible to: 

• Troubleshooting, upgrading, migration and or installation of SCADA, PLC and HMI Hardware for projects related to general maintenance or new construction facilities, including logic design and network configuration.
• Application of PLC Logic and related automation networks.
• Provide ongoing maintenance support for clients and hands on development for construction based projects.
• Prepare devices and I/O lists as well as construction support and commissioning assistance.

Qualifications Required: 

• Journeyman Instrument Mechanic/Electrician with extensive Automation experience
• 5-10 years of experience with Delta V and/or Allen Bradley Controls Systems. Previous experience with VTScada, Rockwell Automation, Emerson Automation, Industrial Networks, and SCADA would be a strong asset.
• Post Secondary Diploma in either Instrument Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automated System Engineering Technology or a Degree in Electrical Engineering (EIT OR P.Eng) is an asset
• Valid Driver’s license
• Strong interpersonal skills, building positive and strong relationships with staff and clients.
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues.
• Familiarity with IT SCADA architectural standards.
• Highly proficient in Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows Server 8.
• Demonstrated organizational and documentation skills.
• Exceptional trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
• An analytical thinker with a logical thought process.
