CL Martin a business of Black Diamond Group, rents, leases and sells temporary and permanent modular buildings, including standard buildings ready for immediate delivery and custom-designed solutions. We work with our customers to design and deliver customized solutions, and provide additional services such as delivery and installation, furniture rentals and other add-ons.
CL Martin is hiring for a Driver-Installer for our Floradale, Ontario branch.
The Driver-Installer has an essential role within the BOXX Modular (C L Martin & Co.) branch. The role is to be responsible for driving a Class 8 Tractor/Trailer combination vehicle, load and unload modular buildings, and work with a partner to disassemble and reassemble these buildings. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded driver and handyman, with experience in areas such as equipment use, some maintenance, and repair.
Working hours are Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day with regular overtime in July and August. Occasional overtime throughout the rest of the year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete all duties related to driving a class 8 truck, including filling out reports.
Learn to operate our specialized equipment which is used to load and unload trucks as well as tasks involved in the disassembly and reassembly of modular buildings.
Work closely with the senior person on your crew.
General maintenance duties related to truck, equipment, and modular building fleet care.
Qualifications:
Ideally have a class A, Z Ontario driver’s license. We are willing to provide driver training for someone who has other skills to contribute.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, while juggling multiple priorities.
Positive attitude, with strong work ethic and team player.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must fill out online forms.
Willingness to travel to customer sites within Southern Ontario during work hours.
Fall Protection, First Aid Certification, and WHMIS are assets. We will train if you don’t.
Able to pass a pre-employment criminal records check and Drug and Alcohol Testing
Physical Requirements
Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs.
Able to work in all weather conditions (outdoors)
