
Engineering Manager

We manufacture, supply, transport and apply premium calcium chloride products for anti-icing, deicing and dust control. But that's not all. We also formulate custom fluids for, available for purchase or rental 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to work from our Nisku, and Slave Lake offices. The Engineering Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of plant processes. This includes troubleshooting and optimization of existing plant equipment, the development of new products, design of new plant processes, and technical support for the organization. The role ensures process compliance with safety, environment, and regulatory requirements.

What you will do in this role:
Process Engineering & Optimization
Troubleshoot and optimize existing plant equipment.
Lead the design of new plant processes from concept to production.
Identify, review, and implement process improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
Review plant operating data and assist in investigating/resolving process issues.
Develop or adopt industry best practices and new technologies to enhance the efficiency of existing production systems.
Provide technical guidance for engineering, design, planning, development, and project management.
Assist in development and modification of operational strategies.
Manage contractors, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders on technical matters.
Prepare process design basis memoranda and capital cost estimates.
Assign tasks to Engineering Technologist and supervise work.
Product Development & Quality
Lead the development of new products and R&D activities.
Support development and design of new plant systems to generate new products
Perform lab work to support process engineering, sales, or operational troubleshooting.
Manage the organization’s quality program and lead certifications with PNS & BNQ standards.
Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
Support development of Process Safety policies and procedures.
Apply technical knowledge to address health, safety, and environmental issues in the design and execution of new projects.
Oversee participation in Alberta TIER Program including GHG data tracking and yearly audits.
Maintain environmental databases for AER, EPEA, ESG, and SASB reporting.
Act as Responsible Engineer for APEGA Permit to Practice.
