We have a full-time position for a Maintenance Worker (Camp – Rotational). This role has a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on, 1 week off, and will work out of a Workforce Camps in Northern BC and/or Alberta.

The Maintenance Worker role is an essential part of our Camp Operations at Black Diamond Group. The role is responsible for a variety of maintenance and repair of the camp. This includes preventative maintenance of camp equipment and appliances as well as minor repairs on plumbing and electrical systems.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in camp on a rotational schedule and have a variety of experience in building maintenance and repair. They will have a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass both a pre-employment drug and alcohol and criminal check.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all site-wide building related maintenance and additional projects, as directed by the Maintenance Manager and Lodge Management Staff.
  • Preventative maintenance of camp equipment and appliances
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing and electrical systems
  • Maintain and monitor safety, fire and emergency equipment systems
  • Snow removal and other site services tasks
  • Maintenance of HVAC systems, and gas fired appliances
  • Specific projects as assigned
  • Other duties assigned by your Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of general maintenance experience (Camp Maintenance experience preferred)
  • Must be able to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, while managing tight deadlines
  • Collaborative team player, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Willing to travel to various camps in the region and work a rotation schedule
  • Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driving Abstract is required
  • Fall protection, First Aid, WHMIS an asset
  • Ability to pass pre-employment criminal records check and drug/alcohol test
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, with frequent bending and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work well in an independent manner
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be familiar with basic tools and their use
