Job Description

Job Summary:

The Inspection Trainee in Bonnyville, Alberta will assist Operators in the inspection and repair of used tubular goods and is responsible for pipe handling, cleaning and inspection and repair of used tubular goods, including drill pipe.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Operators in the utilization of Wellhead Isolog, Wellchek, and Classifax Sonoscope Isolog units.
  • Ensure thread and magnetic particle inspection accordingly; removal and application of thread compounds.
  • You will Clean and repair pipe threads, drift and sort tubulars.
  • Responsible for coupling removal and replacement together with unit calibration.
  • General housekeeping, shop cleanup and basic unit maintenance.
  • Follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Participate in training programs as required by the company
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school education with the ability to read, write and speak a minimum amount of English to perform job duties
  • Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred

Technical Requirements:

  • Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred

HSE Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a shop and yard environment.  Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and changes of temperature/humidity. 
  • Physical requirements: squatting, bending, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 23 kilograms, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment.
  • Required to at all times wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform duties in a safe manner
