JOURNEYMAN WELDER

We are hiring a Journeyman Welder to join our team. He/She/They will be responsible for welding and fabrication projects in our manufacturing facility. They will be operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-core arc, and shielded metal arc processes. They will be conducting repairs, modifications, and retrofits as well as reviewing blueprints and specifications using their expertise to ensure function in intended design and environment. The candidate will maintain their knowledge of current changes in technology, compliance, and techniques to ensure NXL remains at the forefront of the industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret drawings and welding process specifications.
2. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FCAW), and shielded metal arc (SMAW)
3. Operate semi-automatic or manual flame/plasma cutting equipment
4. Assist in training, directing & supervision of junior employees and apprentices, inspecting and certifying their work
5. Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
6. Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
7. Organization: Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple support requests simultaneously.
8. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others
9. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing technology and business requirements, with a willingness to learn and expand technical knowledge.
10. Able to lift 20kgs.
