POSITION SUMMARY

Journeyperson B-Pressure Welders work in shop fabrication and module-based setting on projects that include joining components such as beams, girders, vessels, and piping and ensure all jobs are completed as per welding procedure specifications, weld maps, and work packages. Our welders take pride in their trade and see that Strike's high standards of safety and quality are always met.

Note: This posting will be used to collect applications to fill current openings as well as anticipated future openings. Future openings are anticipated but not guaranteed.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Shop/Module Yard work
  • Hours are 7am - 5pm, 50 hrs/week
  • Shop location Crossfield, Alberta

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with non-destructive Testing Inspector
  • Welding of pipe spools with an emphasis on Safety, Quality and Production while working in accordance with client specifications and Strike's weld procedures
  • Multiple Welding Process’
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
  • Interpret Acorn drawings

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority
  • Must possess an ABSA Grade ‘B’ Pressure Welder certificate

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Able to interpret Acorn drawings
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors
