POSITION SUMMARY
The Journeyperson Scaffolder is responsible for erecting, positioning, dismantling and monitoring the stability of scaffolding on site. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

PROJECT DETAILS

  • Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
  • Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
  • Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
  • Travel pay: $400/shift
  • Camp retention: $25/day

CORE ACCOUNTABILTIES

  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Fuel equipment when needed
  • Clean construction work areas
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, and barricades required at construction sites
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Correct unsafe acts and bring unsafe conditions to the attention of the immediate supervisor
  • Return tools (clean) back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Possess a valid Journeyperson certificate of qualification issued by the appropriate province or federal authority

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Experience with trouble shooting issues in the field
  • Ability to work well in both independent and team environments and manage multiple tasks while working under minimal supervision

Safety Tickets Required

  • CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) Training Certificate
  • WHIMIS 2015 (Strike can provide when onboarding)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (Strike can provide when onboarding)
  • Additional Training may be required if you will be working at heights - Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform Training
