CARE Industries is currently seeking a reliable and self-motivated Journey person Welder/Fabricator to join our team and become a part of our growing history.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manufacture equipment from layouts, blueprints and/or work orders
- Perform welding processes: Stick, SMAW, GMAW (Metal/Flux Core, Mig)
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently.
- Construct patterns and templates as guides for layouts
- Lay out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications.
- Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite.
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units or subunits using tack welding, bolting, riveting or other methods.
- Set up and operate various heavy-duty metal-working machines such as Hand Tools, brake presses, shears, cutting torches, grinders, Saws, and drills, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form heavy-metal components.
- Structural welding, fabrication and assembly of complete rig packages and equipment
- Clean and inspect all work before it leaves the shop.
- Conduct all work in a safe and orderly manner.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Knowledge and operational experience of basic hand tools and other shop equipment
- Basic layout skills
- Organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to take direction and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must hold a valid class 5 Driver’s License
Education and Experience:
- Alberta Ticketed Journey person or equivalent out of province experience/training/certification
Compensation & Benefits:
- Wage Range $30.00 - $42.00/Hr
- $1.00/Hr RRSP Matching after completion of 1 Year of continuous Service
- Alberta Blue Cross Benefit Package including Extended Health care, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability & Life Insurance, after Probationary period (90-day) completion.
- Overtime after 8 Hours per day and/or 44 Hrs per week as required.
