As our Junior Analyst, Business & ERP you will be engaging with key customers, stakeholders, and teams in the field and office to bring to life an improved customer experience. This role supports our customers through the whole technology experience journey – from investigation, initial meeting, specifications gathering, testing and ongoing support.  

This role is based out of Calgary, Alberta

Work Environment

This is a full-time permanent position based in an office environment.

A Day in The Life

Technology Experience

  • Assist in the analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements for a critical cloud-based business system and related applications.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of system enhancements, ensuring alignment with the business needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT(BITS) and business stakeholders to streamline processes and improve systems efficiencies.
  • Conduct regular system audits and participate in the testing of new enhancements/features to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in business systems analysis and web application development.
  • Assist in the management of DevOps related tickets to ensure specifications are gathered in time to deliver with precise detail so that target dates can be met in the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily scrums, and sprint retrospectives to ensure alignment across the delivery team and for continuous improvement of the software delivery cycle.
  • Analyze data structures within SQL and Cosmos DB to help identify root cause of issues reported by the business and break down requirements of various enhancements.

Support

  • Work with the broader business and technical team to triage and resolve issues reported within the system through our Help Desk.
  • Convert reported bugs or enhancements requests into well written detailed specifications within DevOps for developers to action.
  • Communicate and follow up on issue resolution with impacted stakeholders as needed. Supports the Product Manager to track and monitor status of product issues and risks, escalating as deemed necessary to appropriate stakeholders.

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

The individual in this role will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • 3 years of customer success support, business analysis, and/or project management.
  • 3 years’ experience in IT.
  • 3 years’ experience in business requirements gathering and/or change management on complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and enhance business process
  • Strong understanding of process design and improvement methodologies; proficient in process mapping techniques and tools (e.g., Visio).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability create onboarding and training documentation.

The following are considered desirable assets:

  • within Landfill and midstream operations pertaining to waste management.
  • Certification in a related discipline.

Education

Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field.

Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field.

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
