Job Description
NOV is seeking a Production Operator for our day shift to join our Downhole Manufacturing Facility in Nisku, AB.
Preference given to candidates with previous experience in tube ID blasting for the production of power section, PC Pump and Agitator stators. Experience with Clemco blasting systems considered an asset.
Job Summary:
As the Production Operator, you will part of a team that manufactures stators. You will operate a variety of manual and semi-automatic production equipment with a focus on quality and safety. Technical abilities, team work, collaboration, attention to detail, physical ability and pride in doing a good job are essential aspects of this role. You will promote and support all initiatives to ensure a safe, clean and efficient work environment is maintained for yourself and your co-workers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Use precision measuring equipment and document findings
- Operate manual and semi-automatic production/manufacturing equipment
- Provide clear communications, both verbal and written
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts in a safe and responsible manner
- Participate in all near miss / incident reporting
- Adhere to all HSEQ policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, comprehend written instructions and technical documentation
- Physically fit and able to safely lift and move items (using appropriate aids if required)
- Mechanical aptitude and awareness - hand tools, basic hydraulics, safe operation of machines
- Have a strong sense of initiative and creative thinking to ensure quality products are manufactured
- Work well in a team environment – promoting an environment of collaboration and support
HSE
- Able to work in shop environment (noise, fumes, standing) and lifting unassisted 35 lb.
This position is classified as safety sensitive and employment would be conditional on satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
