Job Description
ECO Canada is looking for a performance-driven individual to join the Professional Services team in a Management role.
Reporting to the Vice President, Professional Services and ESG, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the successful execution of our Environmental, Indigenous and Academic programs, while leading business development and project management activities. This person will also have a demonstrated ability for leading people, developing professional relationships and the talent to exercise their creative freedom to develop new concepts and ideas, seeing them through from initial thought to execution. This role is very dynamic and provides tremendous opportunity for someone to work in a variety of different areas, leveraging both their strengths and expertise.
Working with the Professional Services and ESG team requires a business-minded individual who can scan the environmental market for new opportunities, while tending to the existing programs, projects and team members. No two days are alike, and the work environment is fast paced, so a keen sense of priority management and organizational skills to ensure multiple activities can be balanced and executed simultaneously will be key. You can also expect to work with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders, from government, industry, Indigenous, academic and other backgrounds, so being adaptable and comfortable leading conversations with people will be integral.

Responsibilities
Business Development
- Participate in the development of new funding initiatives and proposal writing.
- Develop and maintaining strategic professional relationships and partnerships.
- Determine how ECO Canada can support existing and new clients alike and pitch relevant products, programs and/or services.
- Identify new areas of opportunity for program, product and service development
- Develop and implement systems for tracking business development efforts and managing key relationships.
Project Management
- Collaborate with the team to prepare material for proposal outlines and logical frameworks.
- Lead the development of new proposals, including technical writing, budget creation, sourcing partners and letters of support.
- Review proposal components and final text for clarity, consistency and responsiveness to RFP requirements.
- Execute multiple projects within scope/budget/timeline expectations to ensure high quality standards on project deliverables.
- Participate in budget management, including forecasting, scheduling expenditures and managing in-kind requirements.
- Autonomously executing decision making in a decisive manner, as it relates to determining project guidelines, purpose, deliverables and execution.
- Ongoing updates to management and directors regarding project successes/failures/challenges and any anticipated concerns with scope, budget and/or timelines.
People Management
- Interacting with employees to direct workflow, assess performance and problem solve.
- Ensuring short-, mid- and long-term targets and productivity are met or exceeded.
- Fostering collaboration across the team, ensuring accountability for autonomous work.
- Setting expectations for performance using individualized work plans and performance management strategies for direct reporting staff.
- Engage individual staff in unique ways to encourage growth, adoption of corporate culture and positive engagement.

- Previous knowledge or desire to learn about Canada’s environmental workforce.
- Proven flexibility to handle changing priorities and managing multiple projects and deadlines efficiently without compromising quality.
Qualifications and Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, business or project management related field considered an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the environmental sector.
- 3+ years of experience in leadership roles, including performance management, coaching and strategic planning.
- Intermediate to advanced user in MS Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Experience developing new products, programs and/or services considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability working with budgets and financials.
- Demonstrated success in writing proposals and managing projects.
- Ability to evaluate and synthesize relevant technical data and research accurately.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships.
- Must be willing to travel periodically throughout Canada.
- Prior experience with government RFPs/grant applications will be considered a strong asset.
- Fluency in French considered an asset.
- EP Designation considered an asset.
