Quality Manager - Downhole Manufacturing
Job Description
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that tools are being manufactured appropriately and efficiently, for supervising the inspections procedures of various tools/products to meet customer standards and manufacturing specifications. They are also responsible for quality audits, overseeing training of personnel on new procedures, investigating improper manufacturing procedures, monitoring third party inspections, and supporting corrective actions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise QA personnel.
- Ensure that area personnel are manufacturing and outsourcing products in compliance with proper procedures.
- Conduct HSEQ system, process and supplier audits, process and supplier qualification.
- Promote customer satisfaction and address customer complaints.
- Investigate improper HSEQ procedures, shipping errors, manufacturing errors, and troubleshoot for root causes.
- Communicate to management the status of on-going issues and methods for improving HSEQ system effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage all relevant documentation as it relates to product quality, audits, manuals, inspections, and quality errors.
- Assist with creation/implementation of site procedures.
- Support and lead implementation and sustainment of initiatives using tools such as Lean Manufacturing, and other quality continuous improvement tools.
- Support and lead implementation and sustainment of BU competency program
- Coach, mentor, and help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years relevant and direct experience in similar roles.
- Experience with quality assurance and tool service procedures.
- Post-secondary education desirable.
- Excellent leadership and mentorship skills.
- Experience in conducting HSEQ system, process, supplier audits and document management.
- Skilled in investigating manufacturing errors and troubleshooting root causes.
- Lean Manufacturing and other continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to assist with the creation and implementation of site procedures.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
