ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of Ready Mix Operator is responsible for the primary day-to-day delivery of Ready Mix Concrete to Job Sites (Home Owner and other Clients in the industries) This role is also responsible for customer relationships, giving great service with a Friendly attitude to ensure customers receive a high-level delivery and Product from Lafarge. This is a customer-facing role that requires a service-oriented mindset and a highly professional approach.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

Adhere to all Lafarge safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Maintain equipment by doing daily Pre and Post trip inspections, having a good sense of accountability to keep equipment clean inside and out.

Build and maintain relationships of trust with customers in assigned geography. Own the satisfaction of these customers at all times.

Responsible for consistent and reliable customer service through delivery. Maintain a delivery service that is a positive, hassle-free experience for Lafarge’s customers.

Able to navigate around the City of Grande Prairie and surrounding areas, to maintain on-time deliveries.

Maintain strong working relationships with Logistics, and Operations teams as well as fellow operators.

Understand traffic rules and regulations in a commercial vehicle and be courteous on the road.

Open minded and a quick learner and be able to perform operation on electronic devices (Tablets, GPS, etc…);

Lafarge Ready Mix Training Program provided.

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: Experience in a related field preferred but not required; training is provided
Required Training/Certifications: Needs to have a Class 3Q (Air Brakes) or Class 1Q – Drivers abstract is REQUIRED when applying
Required Technical Skills: Able to operate manual transmission – 10 Speed or higher preferably

Additional Requirements:

Strong Communicational skills required – English (Written, Reading and Verbal)

Ability to perform tasks on Electronic devices such as Tablets, Bluetooth mics, etc…

Relationship-building (External customers and internal Lafarge personnel)

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Problem solving and decision making

Good sense of organization and keep equipment clean and presentable

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Strong sense of teamwork

Have a flexible schedule. This position may require an individual to work different shifts as well be available weekends.

Able to lift >50lbs

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
