RIGHT CHOICE Camps & Catering is recruiting RIG Camp Cooks to work in our various remote camp locations in Northwestern Alberta. Reporting to the Field Supervisors the successful candidate will be preparing meats, salads, sandwiches and entrees as well as being responsible for providing the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Breakfast service hours from 6:00 – 8:00AM
  • Proficient at using flat top grill, oven, deep fryer, steam tables.
  • Serve various Breakfast and Supper meals daily.
  • Maintain kitchen and dining room cleanliness at all times.
  • Ensure cooler and freezer temperatures are within required specifications.
  • Ensure dining room is well stocked (condiments, coffee, drinks)
  • Prepare breakfast sandwiches and Togo meals for the Rig staff not at camp.
  • Make breakfast sandwiches for the rig.
  • Make various soups.
  • Make Rig boxes.
  • Wash all dishes after each crew leaves Fill sinks for dishes.
  • Bake pastries or desserts for the guests.
  • Check on all mechanical equipment (make up air, propane, water)
  • Lead team meetings which include Safety
  • Conduct weekly inventory and submit food orders.
  • Unload grocery trucks upon arrival
  • Ensure all meal sheets and billing are up to date and correct.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Culinary training from a technical school preferred • Minimum 2 years of related food/hospitality experience in a remote camp environment is preferred.
  • Must have valid provincial Food Safe and Standard First Aid with CPR • Ability to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Daily hours of work typically 11-12 hours
  • Ability to travel and work within Western Alberta on a 21 day on and 7 days off rotation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50-$21.76 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
