Our Vancouver Road Construction Team is seeking a skilled Road/Residential Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The Concrete Finisher plays a vital role in the completion of road and residential construction projects by providing expertise in finishing concrete surfaces to specified standards. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in various settings.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for concrete placement by setting forms, ensuring proper alignment, and applying necessary coatings or treatments.
- Pour and spread concrete onto prepared surfaces, using tools such as rakes, shovels, and screeds to distribute and level the concrete.
- Finish concrete surfaces to specified textures and finishes, including broom, trowel, and stamped finishes.
- Apply curing compounds or sealants to protect concrete surfaces from damage and ensure proper curing.
- Repair and patch damaged or deteriorated concrete surfaces as needed.
- Operate hand and power tools, such as edgers, jointers, and saws, to shape and finish concrete.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Qualities:
- Previous experience as a concrete finisher in road and residential construction projects.
- Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools common to concrete finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Attention to detail and precision in achieving specified concrete finishes.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and regulations on construction sites.
