
Senior Finance Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Finance Analyst is the key “Business Partner” for Texada and Sumas Shale Ltd as well as plays a key role in partnering and supporting GVA Aggregate Operations. The role is responsible for coordinating and preparing accurate monthly financial reports, weekly forecasts, annual budgets, capital and other financial information. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results within the product line.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Prepare monthly accrual entries, prepaid amortization entries, classification entries, etc.
- Coordinate preliminary and post-month-end financial reviews with Operations, Commercial and Finance teams to review results for accuracy, cost control, sales optimization, and business context.
- Prepare monthly P&L analysis including commentary for GVA Aggregates, Texada, and Sumas Shale.
- Develop and prepare Internal Reports for Managers and operations as needed (e.g., Proforma plant statements, cost per tonne analytics, etc.)
- Prepare compliance reporting for various stakeholders including Tax, Country Finance, Sustainability & Environment, Risk, Governmental bodies, etc.
- Partner with Operations to track actuals vs targets and provide support to achieve targets through own efforts and transparency/ support from Controller and Finance Director.
- Maintain proper financial and accounting controls and documentation under SOX and US GAAP.
- Manage high-cost approval process with Operations to support accurate cost forecast.
- Coordinate and respond to audit inquiries as requested (external and internal).

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Undergraduate Degree.
Additional Education Preferred: N/A
Field of Study Preferred: Finance, Accounting, or Business.
Required Work Experience: 5+ years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles.
Required Training/Certifications: Eligible and/or enrolled in CPA PREP program.
Required Technical Skills: Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP, BPC)
Travel Requirements: 0-10%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
