Our Finance & Accounting team has a full-time position for a Senior Financial Analyst in Calgary, AB. This role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing and modeling financial data, preparing business plans, and providing key insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for a talented finance professional looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and growing company.

The successful candidate in this role will have a passion for financial visual storytelling and demonstrated commitment to support a rapidly growing tech company, proven analytic skills with solid understanding of financial modeling and data, exceptional communication skills to coordinate with multiple partners, effective at problem solving with minimal support and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities with members of the parent company’s Forecasting, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function.
  • Prepare financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for management, use visual storytelling to highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  • Create solutions for efficiencies and automation for LodgeLink’s product, customers, and internal leaders.
  • Assist in creating models for financial analysis of the organization’s strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Assist with month end margin analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data, ensure accuracy, and develop comprehensive financial models focused on revenue growth and cost optimization.
  • Analyze key performance indicators of the business against plan to support management’s use of data-based decision making.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial performance against targets, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development of financial strategies and initiatives in alignment with the organization’s goals.
  • Stay updated on emerging tech industry trends, regulatory changes, and assess the potential impact on profitability.
  • Provide proactive business analysis and support ad hoc requests as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • CFA designation or an MBA is an asset.
  • 3-5 years proven experience in an FP&A role with a solid understanding of financial and management reporting.
  • Strong data management and dashboard modeling skills with advanced Excel knowledge and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar software.
  • Previous experience with ERP & planning software, including Oracle EPM would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and data manipulation and experience working with large data sets would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages would be an asset.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to connect issues and work proactively toward a resolution with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to present findings/analysis and ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment as required.
