Work Environment
This role is based full-time out of our Brookfield Place - Calgary office.
A Day in The Life
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing HR insights that influence key business decisions and align people strategies with operational goals.
- Lead organizational development, assessing and optimizing structures, roles, and processes to ensure agility and alignment with evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with Total Rewards, Learning & Engagement, and Talent Acquisition teams to deliver compensation, benefits, talent development, and staffing solutions that enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Coach and guide leaders through complex employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and team development, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Drive strategic HR initiatives, such as workforce planning, mergers and acquisitions, and talent integration, supporting the company's long-term growth.
- Leverage HR data and analytics to identify trends, provide insights, and recommend actionable strategies that enhance overall business performance.
- Foster a high-performance culture, partnering with leaders to build diverse, inclusive teams that align with the company's values and business objectives.
Skills, Experience, & Qualifications
- 10+ years of senior HR business partnering experience, ideally within the waste management, energy, oil and gas, or renewables sectors, with a proven track record of delivering strategic HR initiatives that align with business growth and operational goals.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to coach senior leaders, align people strategies with business objectives, and provide expert HR guidance in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Expertise in organizational development and workforce planning, including restructuring, talent management, and succession planning, ensuring organizational agility and readiness to meet evolving business demands.
- Experience partnering with specialized HR functions, including Total Rewards, Learning & Engagement, and Talent Acquisition, to deliver comprehensive people strategies that enhance employee engagement, retention, and business performance.
- Proficiency in using HRIS systems, particularly UKG, and leveraging data and insights to drive decision-making, identify trends, and implement scalable HR solutions that support both immediate and long-term business objectives.
- A degree in Human Resources, Commerce, or Management as well as CPHR Designation will be considered an asset.
