Shop Service Supervisor - Rig Technologies Aftermarket Repair
Job Description
Join our team as Shop Service Technician Supervisor who performs a variety of tasks such as servicing, testing, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning and repair of equipment. As Supervisor, you will coordinate, coach and review the Shop Service Technician’s work and assignments.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Material Handling- moving material including the use of overhead cranes, jib cranes and forklifts.
- Mechanical and/or Electrical/Electronics servicing, testing, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning and repair.
- Performs complex duties and exercises judgment for decisions and problem solving
- Works independently under limited supervision while monitoring shop supply orders
- Conducts safety meetings, supervise, coach and train junior staff
- Directs SST’s on job assignments, contact customers and review SST paperwork
- Cleaning and management of assigned tools, shop area and vehicle.
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Communicate with Repair Manager regularly, on all aspects of service.
- Complete reporting, job and billing paper work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience):
- Knowledge and experience with oilfield equipment and service work is an asset
- Generally may have 5+ years of experience as Shop supervisor
- Alberta Industry Training- Apprenticeship/Journeyperson program an asset
- Experience with schematics and blueprints
- Good Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5)
Technical Requirements (software or program knowledge needed):
- Low/medium voltage drives, rectification and generation (EET/Journeyman Electrician ONLY)
- PLC programming software (EET/Journeyman Electrician ONLY)
- Microsoft Office & Outlook knowledge an asset
This position is classified as safety sensitive, and employment would be conditional on satisfactory completion of a pre-employment testing.
This position is classified as company driver and a driver abstract review would be required.
