Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy

The Sludge Pad Labourer is responsible for day-to-day on-site duties to complete work safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean work site. This includes operating various heavy equipment, such as Tele-Handlers, Forklifts, Loaders, and Skid Steers, to support waste processing and offloading activities. The role also involves maintaining accurate waste documentation, performing physical tasks, adhering to our safety program, and actively contributing as a member of the team.

Work Environment

This position is located in Edmonton, Alberta, and offers a Monday-to-Friday schedule, 40 hours per week.

A Day in The Life

  • Assist in the offloading of Vac & Tank Trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Operate Forklift, Loader, Loaders and Skid Steer to load materials onto trucks and trailers.
  • Safely operate fork trucks for loading, unloading, and moving waste within the facility.
  • Operate pressure washing and steaming equipment
  • Operate pumps, tanks, and other sludge processing equipment.
  • Actively participate in the processing of all waste within the sludge facility.
  • Perform physical tasks such as sweeping, lifting, shoveling, and handling containers.
  • Repack waste into larger containment for transport and disposal.
  • Maintain accurate counts and documentation of all waste containers.
  • Participate in safety meetings, tailgate meetings, and maintain a clean, organized facility.
  • Ensure a safe site environment for all internal and external stakeholders.

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

  • 1 – 2 years of General Labourer experience
  • 1-2 years of Heavy equipment experience 
  • Competent at completing documents on a daily basis
  • Good understanding of the regional Occupational Health and Safety requirements and ability to operate mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, challenging work site environments and long demanding work days
