
Technical Product Manager
We are hiring for a Technical Product Manager in out Calgary, Alberta Location!
What you will be doing:
As a Technical Product Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging technical expertise with product vision. You will work closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful development and delivery of technically complex features. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and collaboration. This position requires a deep technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of product management best practices in an agile environment.
This role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Technical Vision
- Define and own the product roadmap for SaaS solutions, including API integrations, and Data intensive applications.
- Partner with engineering leaders to prioritize technical debt and align development with long-term business goals.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on requirements, timelines, and priorities.
- Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with customer success, sales and marketing teams to gather feedback and ensure the product meets market demands.
Execution & Delivery
- Develop and manage a clear, data-driven product backlog, balancing technical feasibility, market demands, and strategic priorities.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of technical projects by working closely with engineering teams to define and manage sprints, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Measure product success through clearly defined KPIs and metrics, iterating based on data and feedback.
Customer & Developer Focus
- Advocate for both end-users and internal developers by addressing usability, maintainability, and scalability in all solutions.
- Work with customers and partners to gather feedback, identify pain points, and validate technical requirements.
Leadership and Influence
- Foster collaboration across teams and maintain focus on delivering customer value.
- Stay informed about travel tech trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to guide innovation and create a better way
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with APIs, data pipelines, cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure), and integrations in a SaaS or B2B environment.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a technical role (e.g., software development, system architecture) or technical product management.
- 3+ years of product management experience, with at least 1 year in a technical product role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Proven ability to manage product roadmaps and deliver technical projects in Agile environments.
- Demonstrated success in translating complex technical challenges into simple, scalable product solutions.
- Strong experience defining product roadmaps, writing user stories, and prioritizing features based on customer value.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical trade-offs and business priorities.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, and collaboration platforms like Figma.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of data analytics, reporting systems, and customer-facing platforms.
- Background in industries like travel, workforce management, or accommodations.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
