Truck Driver - Class 1
ChampionX has an immediate need for a Truck Driver located in Calgary, AB. The Truck Driver is responsible for providing customer delivery of bulk chemicals throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The Specialist safely operates multiple configuration bulk trucks over congested city highways, rolling and mountainous terrain and rural roads. The Specialist also provides preventative maintenance of any type of vehicle used to deliver chemicals to customers, plants and warehouse locations.

What You Will Do:
- Operates vehicle in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and maintains accurate and complete records pertaining to the transportation of dangerous goods
- Operates the transport unit business to maintain and improve profitability by managing all aspects of operational costs
- Assists in developing operating systems and procedures which reduce costs, maintain quality and ensure safe product delivery
- Conducts daily pre and post-trip inspections in order to maintain the condition and safe operation of the truck and equipment
- Verifies and confirms trucking documentation is completed in accordance with established company and regulatory requirements
- Confirms product placement and volumes are correct according to documentation including load sheets, bills of lading and trip log
- Completes all training and maintains appropriate certification and licensing as required by law for the transportation of dangerous goods
- Adheres to and maintains all applicable company, legal and regulatory requirements
Position Details:
- Candidate must reside in Calgary, AB or the surrounding area
- Salaried position working 60 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED
- Valid Class 1 driver's license
- Acceptable 5-year commercial driver's abstract
- Minimum 5 years of oilfield or dangerous goods hauling experience
Physical Demand:
- Pre-employment medical screening required
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in WHMIS, TDG, First Aid and H2S
- Experience operating forklifts, drum dollies, trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses, meters, printers and gauge
- Must possess strong reading comprehension, writing and mathematical abilities
- Must possess a strong safety focus and demonstrated history of safe practices
- Experience handling products in various types of packages including bulk and drums
- Ability to back straight trucks, semi-trucks and trailers into narrow passages through expensive industrial equipment
- Experience with transportation of bulk liquids
- Knowledge of equipment, compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and Transport Canada regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials
