The successful candidate will be a driven individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills.</p><p>This role is based out of <strong>Calgary, Alberta</strong></p><h2><strong>The Team</strong></h2><p>The Senior Financial Accountant will join a collaborative and supportive team that values effective communication and knowledge-sharing. This role involves close interaction with stakeholders across various departments, creating a highly engaging atmosphere where team members support each other to achieve shared financial goals.</p><h2><strong>Work Environment</strong></h2><p>The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to handle complex financial tasks efficiently. This role provides a balance of routine financial activities and special projects, fostering both stability and continuous learning within a structured yet evolving setting.</p><h2><strong>A Day in The Life</strong></h2><ul><li>Oversee/assist in the daily accounting and finance activities for the division</li><li>Assist in the month-end close activities</li><li>Assist in the interim and year-end audit – preparing audit schedules, providing information at auditor’s request, providing explanation in variances, etc.</li><li>Initiating and implementing process improvements</li><li>Assist in the monthly reporting and analysis of financial results including detailed variance review of the month’s operational results, and review/preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations</li><li>Provide support and financial assistance in an efficient and timely manner to various stakeholders</li><li>Lead and/or support special projects such as IFRS standards implementation, complex accounting issues analysis and internal control process updates</li><li>Preparation of ad-hoc financial information</li></ul><h2><strong>Skills, Experience &amp; Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>5+ years’ experience</li><li>A CPA designation is required</li><li>Experience in a public accounting firm is preferred</li><li>Strong knowledge of IFRS is required</li><li>Strong knowledge of internal controls framework and testing processes</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills with highly developed interpersonal skills</li><li>Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment</li><li>Advanced Excel skills</li></ul><p>The following are considered assets in this role:</p><ul><li>Experience in oil and gas industry is an asset but not required</li><li>Knowledge in the use of D365 and related reporting tools (Solver, PowerBI)</li><li>Adaptable and ability to work in fast paced environment</li></ul><p></p><h2><strong>What's in it for you</strong></h2><p>At SECURE, we focus on opportunities for growth and improvement; for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we operate in.
