This role thrives within a culture that emphasizes safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, where analytical discipline supports business performance and operational excellence.</p><h2><strong>A Day in The Life</strong></h2><ul><li>Engage directly with operations and field teams to understand workflows, constraints, and real-world application of data.</li><li>Interpret operational trends and behaviors, offering recommendations that connect data to on-the-ground realities.</li><li>Facilitate conversations between technical and non-technical groups, ensuring alignment on definitions, processes, and priorities.</li><li>Identify process inefficiencies and propose practical, scalable improvements that balance data capabilities with operational needs.</li><li>Act as a problem-solver and resource for leaders by proactively surfacing insights, risks, or gaps in data quality and business processes.</li><li>Adapt quickly to shifting operational priorities and support teams during time-sensitive decision-making or incidents.</li><li>Build strong relationships across functions to ensure reporting is not only accurate, but relevant, actionable, and trusted by end users.</li><li>Support user adoption by clearly explaining insights, assumptions, limitations, and business impacts.</li></ul><h2><strong>Skills, Experience &amp; Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.</li><li>3–5 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics and/or related operational experience, ideally in the Canadian energy sector.</li><li>Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets.</li><li>Familiarity with operational and financial datasets commonly used in energy services.</li><li>Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data patterns to operational outcomes.</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and creative analytical thinking.</li><li>Naturally curious with a continuous improvement mindset; asks questions to understand “why,” not just “what.”</li><li>Ability to collaborate with field teams, engineers, accountants, and leaders.</li><li>Detail-oriented and organized, especially when working with technical or financial data.</li><li>Experience working in operational, field-based, energy services, manufacturing, or industrial environments (asset).</li><li>Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data for operators, managers, and executives.</li><li>Strong relationship-building skills, including the ability to consult, influence, and support stakeholders at all levels.</li><li>Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity or shifting operational priorities.</li><li>A collaborative, solution-oriented attitude with the willingness to dig into problems hands-on.</li><li>Proactive, self-directed, and able to take ownership of insights and initiatives.</li></ul><p></p><p>Some of the experience and knowledge requirements for this role include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)</li><li>Power BI (DAX)</li><li>Power Automate</li><li>Python</li><li>VBA (for modernization)</li><li>Databricks</li><li>Microsoft D365 (or similar ERPs)</li><li>Jira &amp; Azure DevOps (asset)</li><li>React (Hooks), Typescript, NodeJS (asset)</li></ul><h2><strong>What's in it for you</strong></h2><p>At SECURE, we focus on opportunities for growth and improvement; for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we operate in.
