<h3><strong>SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company</strong> is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Environmental Planning and Management (EPM) Division as an <strong>Environmental Scientist/Biologist</strong><i></i><strong>Consultant</strong> (Competition #24-09-0688) based out of the Lloydminster, AB area.</h3><h2><strong>What to Expect:</strong></h2><p>The successful candidate will focus on pre-development baseline environmental assessments within the oil and gas industry.&nbsp; This role will support continued execution projects in a capacity of permitting and approvals, regular reporting, site observations and recommendations.&nbsp; You will be trusted to ensure the continued quality, cost efficiency and timeliness of project deliverables.&nbsp;</p><p>The ideal candidate will have a safety-first attitude, with an ability to take initiative and ownership in a fast-pasted multidisciplinary project team environment.&nbsp; Familiarity in the species (wildlife and vegetation) local to the region is considered a strength.</p><p>This role is locally based in Lloydminster, Alberta, however regular site visits may be required.</p><h2><strong>Job Duties:</strong></h2><p>You will carry out your duties in consultation with the Manager/Project Manager, EPM on all matters.</p><p>The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>oversee small to large pre-development baseline environmental projects,</li><li>lead site identification and monitoring initiatives which may include wildlife, rare plants, wetlands, and/or aquatic/fisheries assessments,</li><li>report project status on a daily, weekly, monthly and/or as needed basis,</li><li>provide technical expertise in relation to species surveys, detection, and mitigation measures,</li><li>environmental assessments including wetlands, grasslands, and soils,</li><li>observe and adaptively manage communication with various on-site construction teams, and</li><li>consult and engage with members of an expert, multi-disciplinary technical team for project support when necessary.</li></ul><h2><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h2><ul><li>A University Degree or College Diploma from a recognized institution, specializing in environmental science, biology, ecology, or related specialization,</li><li>A minimum of 3 years' direct environmental industry experience,</li><li>Familiarity with wildlife, rare plants, wetlands, and/or aquatic/fisheries assessments,</li><li>Relevant experience on a construction site observing various contractors and understanding impacts as it relates to surrounding habitat,&nbsp; and</li><li>Ability to travel to remote locations, potentially for extended periods of time.</li></ul><p><strong>The following is considered an asset:</strong></p><ul><li>Registered member (professional or in-training) in good standing of a recognized applicable Professional Association.</li></ul><h2><strong>Company Info:</strong></h2><p>Summit, An Earth Services Company has become the industry leader in the environmental services sector with operations in Canada, the United States, and Australia. <h3><strong>SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company</strong> is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Environmental Planning and Management (EPM) Division as a <strong>Senior Environmental Scientist/Biologist Consultant </strong>(Competition #23-04-0625) based out of the Calgary, AB area.</h3><h2><strong>What to Expect:</strong></h2><p>As the successful candidate you will focus on pre-development baseline environmental assessments and environmental monitoring within the energy sector.&nbsp; You will support continued execution projects in a capacity of permitting and approvals, regular reporting, site observations, environmental assessments, and recommendations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor and capacitate team members in their roles to continually improve knowledge on regulatory and industry guidelines. You will be trusted to ensure the safety, continued quality, cost efficiency and timeliness of project deliverables.</p><p>You will have a safety-first attitude, with an ability to take initiative and ownership in a fast-paced multidisciplinary project team environment. Familiarity with the species (wildlife and vegetation) local to the region is required.</p><p>This role is locally based in Calgary, Alberta; however, regular site visits throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan will be required.</p><h2><strong>Job Duties:</strong></h2><p>You will carry out your duties in consultation with the Manager/Project Manager, EPM on all matters.</p><p>The primary responsibilities of the Senior Wildlife Biologist include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Participating in/overseeing small to large pre-development baseline environmental projects;</li><li>Participating in/leading site identification and monitoring initiatives which may include wildlife, rare plants, wetlands, and/or aquatic/fisheries assessments;</li><li>Reporting project status on a daily, weekly, monthly and/or as-needed basis; Providing technical expertise to the client and the team in relation to species surveys, detection, and mitigation measures;</li><li>Regulatory submissions (i.e., water act)</li><li>Completing environmental assessments (wetlands, grasslands, aquatics, and soils);</li><li>Observing and adaptively managing communication with various on-site construction teams;</li><li>Technical reporting;</li><li>Providing professional sign-off on reports (professional designation an asset)</li><li>Consultation and engagement with members of an expert, multi-disciplinary technical team for project support; and,</li><li>Actively participating in Summit’s strong safety culture.</li></ul><h2><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h2><ul><li>Post-secondary education from a recognized institution, specializing in environmental science, biology, ecology, or related specialization;</li><li>A minimum of 10 years direct environmental industry experience;</li><li>Familiarity with wildlife, vegetation, wetlands, and/or aquatic/fisheries assessments;</li><li>Understanding and familiarity with Water Act Submissions, RTFs etc.</li><li>Relevant experience on active construction sites observing various contractors and understanding environmental risks/impacts;</li><li>Ability to travel to remote locations, potentially for extended periods of time.</li></ul><p><strong>The following are considered an asset</strong></p><ul><li>Professional Biologist (P.Biol.) designation and in good standing</li></ul><h2><strong>Company Info:</strong></h2><p>Summit, An Earth Services Company has become the industry leader in the environmental services sector with operations in Canada, the United States, and Australia.
