<h3><strong>The Role</strong>&nbsp;</h3><p>Pason is seeking a Data Science Intern in our Research team for a 16-month internship from May 2026 until August 2027. You will use your strong analytical and programming skills to extract meaningful insights from IoT-based sensor data. Your responsibilities will include developing data analytics, signal processing, machine learning, and control loop algorithms. You will work with a talented group of algorithm and control system designers in an applied research setting.</p><p>This is an opportunity to learn how data science works in a real-world industrial application.</p><h3><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Design algorithms which clean, aggregate, and analyze data from industrial process sensors for the purposes of performance analysis, event detection, and process optimization.</li><li>Design, test, and deploy standalone and web-based software applications for data analytics.</li><li>Design real-time signal processing and control loop algorithms and test their performance on historical sensor data as well as live field trials.</li><li>Learn state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and perform experiments to determine how they are best applied to petroleum oilfield data.</li><li>Work with Pason account managers to solve mathematical and statistical analysis problems for high-priority customers.</li><li>Learn and use the following technologies: Matlab, Python (ML and dashboarding libraries), Java, GIT, AWS, SQL databases, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and web frameworks.</li><li>Participate in team technical discussions, research paper reviews, and propose novel ideas to solve challenging engineering problems.</li><li>Present product prototypes to sales, engineering, and/or management teams.</li></ul><h3><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Programming languages such as Matlab, Python, Java, and SQL</li><li>Python dashboarding libraries such as Streamlit and Plotly Dash</li><li>Machine learning, signal processing, and control systems</li><li>Statistical analysis and data visualization</li><li>Database architecture, development, and management</li></ul><h3><strong>Hybrid Work Environment</strong></h3><ul><li>This position allows the opportunity for an employee to work in a hybrid environment where a portion of their role is in the office and the other portion remote.</li></ul><h3><strong>Education</strong></h3><ul><li>Currently enrolled in 3rd year studies in Electrical, Computer, Software or Geomatics Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields</li></ul><h3><strong>Pre-employment Conditions</strong></h3><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check</p><p>This job posting closes October 15, please ensure you have your application in before the deadline.&nbsp;</p>
