Bowron Environmental Group Ltd. (Bowron) is a growing multi-disciplinary environmental management company focused on providing innovative and effective services to the upstream oil &amp; gas industry.Our Site Closure, Liability Management, and Regulatory division is currently looking for a dedicated and motivated professional to join our team as an Intermediate Environmental Specialist.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Working closely with senior management, clients, and landowners to prioritize workload as efficiently and effectively as possible.</li><li>Coordination, execution, and reporting of Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), as well as reclamation, remediation, risk assessment, soil monitoring, and groundwater monitoring programs.</li><li>Develop and implementation of work plans.</li><li>Interpretation of data and report preparation.</li><li>Keeping current on the environmental and regulatory environment in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and communicating any updates to clients and colleagues.</li><li>Assisting in the development, monitoring and improvement of QA/QC programs and tools, and</li><li>Training/mentoring junior staff.</li></ul>Required Skills / Qualifications:<ul><li>Approximately 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong field background.</li><li>Degree or diploma in environmental sciences or a related field. A professional designation would be considered an asset.</li><li>A strong technical background and familiarity with the protocols, procedures, and analyses associated with the field execution of site assessment, remediation, surface and groundwater monitoring, and spill response projects.</li><li>Strong ability to plan and remain organized in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, and</li></ul>Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.00-$55.00 per hourFlexible language requirement:<ul><li>French not required</li></ul>Work Location: On the roadExpected start date: 2025-05-05

This role monitors workplace safety through proactive risk management, training, and continuous improvement of safety practices and protocols. &nbsp;Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop and implement safety programs in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code, CSA standards, and company standards.</li><li>Develop equipment hazard assessments, safe work practices and task procedures.</li><li>Serve as the company’s Competent Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with Part 2 of the Alberta OHS Code.</li><li>Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.</li><li>Oversee lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and energy isolation procedures.</li><li>Manage laser safety protocols in accordance with CSA Z386 and ANSI Z136 standards.</li><li>Ensure safe operation and training for forklifts, scissor lifts, and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).</li><li>Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and emergency response drills.</li><li>Maintain safety documentation, including SDSs, training records, and inspection logs.</li><li>Liaise with corporate health &amp; safety management</li><li>Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training to all employees and contractors.</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Abilities:<ul><li>In-depth knowledge of Alberta OHS Act, Regulation, and Code.</li><li>Familiarity with CSA standards related to automation, lasers, and PME.</li><li>Strong communication and leadership skills to influence safety culture.</li><li>Analytical skills for incident investigation and risk mitigation.</li><li>Proficiency in EHS software, Microsoft Office, and safety reporting.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.</li><li>Diploma or degree in Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field.</li><li>Appropriate safety qualifications and training, MSO/NCSO or similar.
