POSITION SUMMARYThe General Foreperson provides leadership and is responsible for assisting with scheduling, workforce planning, coordinating and supervising crews, and ensuring the safety, proper apprentice training and productivity of crews at the workface who install/assemble components of industrial products and structures.&nbsp;As a key participant in the relationship with the contractor, other contractors, company and client, the general foreperson has a further role as a coordinating manager and client interface.Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.PROJECT DETAILSProject Name: Mount Bracey Compressor StationNearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days offTravel pay: $400/shiftCamp retention: $25/dayCORE ACCOUNTABILITIES&nbsp;<ul><li>Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews in safety/incident investigations and review</li><li>Identify needs and deficiencies in the plan/schedule and communicate this to the appropriate people</li><li>Ensure quality and inspection of installation</li><li>Apply project procedures, work site policies and collective agreement requirements</li><li>Complete quality reports and required statistics</li><li>Inform the Superintendent of any out of scope work</li><li>Provide crews with adequate supervision to accomplish tasks in a safe effective manner</li><li>Ensure all workers receive the proper training and review and approve worker time cards</li><li>Reporting on crew production, work progress and change</li><li>Completing quality control reports when required</li><li>Recommending or providing feedback on personnel evaluations such as hiring, promotions and corrective action</li><li>Knowing, understanding, communicating and ensuring compliance with the safety regulations (Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and Code) and safety policies and procedures·</li><li>Supporting job training for apprentices and facilitating mentoring of apprentices by journeymen</li><li>Participates in and monitors safety meetings</li><li>Identifying, verifying and reporting any scheduling conflicts with other crews and contractors to the appropriate persons &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSEducation<ul><li>Journeyman trade certification in a relevant trade</li><li>Has completed Leadership for Safety Excellence, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS),&nbsp;Ground Disturbance Level 2, First Aid, Fall Protection, Common Safety Orientation (CSO)</li></ul>EXPERIENCE<ul><li>5 to 7 years of experience as a qualified and competent Foreperson with facility experience including compressors and piping (NPS2 thru NPS48) with experience in large bore piping</li><li>3 years of experience as a qualified and competent General Foreperson managing multiple crews and look ahead planning</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS<ul><li>Strong commitment to safety</li><li>Experience with Word, Excel, Bluebeam (must be able to use computers and other technology applicable to the job)</li><li>Allocation of crew’s time to correct costing phases</li><li>Project construction scope and objectives</li><li>Reading of P&amp;ID’s, ISO’s, GA’s, and Specifications</li><li>Using Field install work packs to assign crews tasks for completing work on schedule</li><li>Must know how to layout piping systems</li><li>Small bore experience</li><li>Large bore up to 48” piping experience</li><li>Crane and rigging experience</li><li>Capable of setting and managing priorities to meet all deadlines</li><li>Strong coordination skills and organization skills</li><li>Written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Valid driver’s license</li><li>Ability to successfully&nbsp;complete a&nbsp;pre-employment drug and alcohol&nbsp;test</li></ul>Why work for Strike:Based in Western Canada with a head office in Calgary, Alberta, we provide energy and industrial construction and maintenance services across the largest geographical area in Canada.At Strike we continuously demonstrate leadership, drive, creativity, and initiative.
