In this role, you will operate a flat deck truck with a folding crane, knuckle boom, and Hiab.</p><h2><strong>Work Environment</strong></h2><p>This position has a Monday-Friday schedule which consists of overtime and weekends as needed.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>A Day in The Life</strong></h2><ul><li>Safely operate various units, including but not limited to folding cranes, knuckle booms, and Hiab equipment, in diverse weather conditions and challenging worksite environments.</li><li>Abide by all SECURE’s Waste Management procedures and customer site-specific safety protocols.</li><li>Comply with all Government NSC Regulations.</li><li>Ensure all waste containers are labeled in accordance with TDG regulations:<ul><li>Drums – stick-on labels</li><li>Bags – label placed in the pocket</li><li>Bins – wire-tied label</li></ul></li><li>Complete all labels fully, including: shipping name, generator name, approval number, TDG class, UN number, packing group number, load number, drum number, etc.</li><li>Inspect all waste materials to ensure compliance with manifest, recycle docket, and bill of lading descriptions.</li><li>Be a team player and participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend coverage.</li><li>Communicate effectively with Dispatch on a daily basis to meet customer needs and maximize SECURE’s operational efficiency.</li><li>Ensure all transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials complies with TDG regulations.</li><li>Verify that all equipment and loads being transported meet weight and dimension requirements for each jurisdiction traveled.</li><li>Work well in a team environment, including participation in an on-call rotation for off-hours and weekends.</li></ul><h2><strong>Skills, Experience &amp; Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake and standard transmission endorsements</li><li>Knuckle Boom Crane Ticketed</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of driving experience in the transportation industry or demonstrated competency</li><li>Mountain highway driving and tire chain-up experience</li><li>Experience and proven ability to utilize tire chains</li><li>Strong understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) and driving regulations</li><li>Knowledge of TDG requirements, including load securement practices (strapping and load planning) and the ability to read and complete government TDG shipping manifests.</li><li>Comfortable securing and hauling hazardous waste materials regulated by Transport Canada on a flat deck truck</li><li>Cross-Canada hauling experience is considered an asset</li><li>Ability to learn and use shipping and HOS phone applications</li><li>Fit-for-work each day</li></ul><h2><strong>What's in it for you</strong></h2><p>At SECURE, we focus on opportunities for growth and improvement; for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we operate in.
