About the RoleThe Saw Technician – Rotating and Band Saw will be responsible for all the components of completing a Manufacturing Order accurately. Additionally, they will ensure the saws are maintained and calibrated to guarantee optimal performance and product quality.Position DetailsStatus: 3-month ContractShift: Afternoons (Monday - Thursday, 4pm - 2am)Location: Calgary NEDuties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Protecting their own and others’ health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site.</li><li>Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job.</li><li>Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation.</li><li>Refraining from causing or participating in harassment and violence.</li><li>Reporting health and safety concerns and conditions to their employer or supervisor.</li><li>Participating in any training provided by the employer.</li><li>Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.</li><li>Communication with their colleagues, supervisors, and managers.</li><li>Reading and understanding the specifications on the Manufacturing Order including:<ul><li>Matching Heat numbers to Material Test Report</li><li>Verifying required dimensions to Material Test Report.</li></ul></li><li>Identifying the required cut length measurement and selecting the suitable saw.</li><li>Performing pre-use inspections of all machinery and tools to be used.</li><li>Measuring and cutting raw steel accurately to ensure the appropriate length requirements from the Manufacturing Order.</li><li>Regularly operating equipment (Forklift, CNC Band, CNC Rotating Saw, Overhead Crane and rigging).</li><li>Positioning forklift baskets in the correct location.</li><li>Ensuring all requirements for shipping are met including:<ul><li>Securing parts onto a pallet,</li><li>Ensuring materials do not exceed weight limits,</li><li>Ensuring the correct documentation accompanies materials,</li><li>Safely loading materials on the truck.</li></ul></li><li>Responsible for understanding the CNC saws maximum capabilities.</li></ul>Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience<ul><li>Display working knowledge and previous experience operating Band saw, Cold saw, Forklift.</li><li>Safely operate a forklift as per manufacturers parameters.</li><li>Understand basket weight restrictions for equal weight distribution and safe lifting techniques.</li><li>Able to communicate effectively with employees and supervisors.</li><li>Able to work both independently and as a part of a team.</li><li>Able to lift heavy parts up to 23 kg (50lbs).</li></ul>All applicants are thanked for their interestSteelhaus Technologies Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
