General Statement of Duties:Member of the Kobold Engineering group responsible for the planning, setup and execution of testing Kobold equipment and tools in a shop and field environment. As well as maintaining the R&amp;D shop and supporting the engineering department with additional tasks.Required Skills / Expertise:While working in the Calgary, AB shop, under the direction of Kobold’s Engineering Manager/ designate Engineer:Become familiar and work safely with the test and sales frame and testing cell.Set up, execution to plan and tear down of test equipment ensuring objectives were met, and test data is accurate captured.Assist in the preparation of written plans to test completion tools.Assist with post test data analysis for summary reports.Take and provide detailed test notes.Support with test reports when requested.Conduct shop work with safety being top priority.Create Job Hazard Analysis when necessary.Work in co-operation and assist other groups if needed.Responsible for Test Bay organization and cleanlinessSetup and conduct shop cleans every six-weeks and ensure all users participate good housekeeping habits including returning the shop to an acceptable state after each test is performed.Ensure equipment, tools and fittings are working and on hand this includes purchasing spare and repairs.Assist in shop tours for sales department.While working in the field, under the general direction of the on-site Kobold operational supervisor:Assist in the assembly, tear down and inspection of prototype tools.Follow all field safety and operations protocols as directed.Learn and understand rig operations sequences and take detailed time event notes.Document and report findings of tool operation and tear down investigations.Transport tools safely back and forth to Calgary as needed.Participate in any post job investigation / testing as required.Other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Mechanical aptitude including industry specific tooling, equipment usage, assembly/ disassembly, QC dimensioning and tolerance.Skilled in Microsoft Office suite of products with a primary focus on Excel and Word.Strong organizational, time management and communication skills.Thorough, with consistent attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate effectively with the full cross-section of personnel within Kobold.&nbsp;Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent.Mechanical technician certificate or technologist diploma an asset3 – 5 years of shop/ warehouse experience with tool assembly.Familiar with MSDS, forklift operation, First Aid, TDG and WHMISPrior oilfield experience with downhole/ completion tooling is an assetIf this opportunity excites you and you are looking to advance your career and grow with our company, please submit your resume in confidence at <a href="mailto:careers@koboldinc.com" target="_blank">careers@koboldinc.com</a> with the subject line containing the position you are applying for.
