SUMMARYPerforms routine laboratory tests to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by the client.Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities:<ul><li>Must comply with all Safety Responsibilities explained in the company handbook</li><li>Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.</li><li>Set up and operate various types of laboratory equipment in order to complete assigned tasks.</li><li>Maintain a safe, clean efficient workplace for themselves and other employees, and must ensure that all safety infractions are addressed in a timely manner.</li><li>Assists in training and development of lower-level technicians in the performance of advanced tests.</li><li>Demonstrate the ability to efficiently interface and communicate with clients regarding the set-up of projects and the relevance, validity, and application of analytical testing performed and data generated.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide technical expertise, training and support to other laboratory personnel, dictated by their analytical scope, as required.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain compliance with the Health, Safety, and Quality Management Systems requirements.&nbsp;</li><li>Contribute to the effectiveness of the Management Systems, including improvement of performance and reduction of nonconformities.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform specialized tests and calculations on gas, oil, water and other samples in order to derive accurate data necessary to compile reports concerning sample analysis for distribution to company clients.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain, calibrate and perform equipment repairs to ensure equipment is functioning in the most efficient and accurate manner possible.&nbsp;</li><li>Review data and calculations to assure accurate analytical results. Enter data into GCLIMS and ensure analytical requirements are met.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform appropriate quality control guidelines in concert with the QA/QC program that is utilized in the department to assure accurate analytical results.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform other assigned duties to ensure that projects are completed on an accurate and time basis, including organizing the workload to accommodate for the completion of prioritized analysis, and relaying the status of such analyses to laboratory coordinators.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform special projects as required or requested by superiors.&nbsp;</li><li>Respond to on call situations after normal working hours, as required&nbsp;</li></ul>Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:· Prerequisite for this position includes a 2-year combined related experience and education

Laboratory Technician - Routine Fluids

<ul><li>Must comply with Safety Responsibilities explained in the Safety Responsibility Policy (CA-ADMR-S24).</li><li>Maintain a safe, clean and efficient workplace</li><li>Ensure that all safety infractions are addressed in a timely manner.</li><li>May interface and communicate with clients regarding the relevance, validity, and application of analytical testing performed and data generated.</li><li>Maintain compliance with the Health, Safety, and Quality Management Systems requirements.</li><li>Contribute to the effectiveness of the Management Systems, including improvement of performance and reduction of nonconformities</li><li>Perform specialized tests and calculations on reservoir and non-reservoir rock and fluid samples in order to derive accurate data necessary to compile reports concerning tests and analyses for distribution to company clients.</li><li>Set up and operate various types of laboratory equipment in order to successfully complete assigned tasks.</li><li>Maintain and perform minor repairs and maintenance to equipment in order to ensure equipment is functioning in the most efficient and accurate manner.</li><li>Review data and calculations to assure accurate analytical results.</li><li>Perform appropriate quality control guidelines in concert with the QA/QC program that is utilized in the department to assure accurate analytical results.</li><li>Respond to on-call situations after normal working hours.</li><li>Perform other assigned duties to ensure that projects are completed on an accurate and timely basis.</li><li>Perform special projects as required or requested by superiors.</li><li>Must be skilled in several aspects/services in one or more sections, and be familiar with their theory and application.&nbsp; For example, sample and fluid log-in, project file maintenance, sample cleaning and drying, porosity and permeability measurement, brine preparation, oil cleaning, ageing of samples under oil, liquid permeability measurement, centrifuge operation, oven setup, loading a sample in core holder</li></ul>
