This position will report directly to the Senior Project Manager of RRRM.</h3><h2>What to Expect:</h2>The successful candidate will be able to apply their Project Management experience in a multi-disciplinary scope, leading various projects throughout the region.&nbsp; These projects may range in size from small to large scale environmental projects.&nbsp; As a Project Manager, you will be empowered to help mentor, train, and develop cross-departmental teams.&nbsp; You will support project queries and forecasts, acting as the direct project representative both internally and externally.&nbsp; You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of technical administrators, business development professionals, an in-house IT department and many other highly experienced, skilled and educated professionals.We are a people-first organization and encourage our team to embody our corporate core focus; “To build a great company with exceptional people to preserve and restore our natural environment.”<h2>Job Duties:</h2>You will carry out your duties in consultation with a Senior Project Manager, RRRM on all matters.&nbsp;The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Oversee reclamation and remediation projects and large program management;</li><li>Provide direction and support to Project Coordinators, Environmental Specialists, and Environmental Analysts (employees and contract staff) that have day to day control of the work and field programs;</li><li>Ensure all programs meet industry and corporate HSE standards and policies;</li><li>Adhere to program budgets and schedules;</li><li>Report project status including but not limited to:</li><li>Spend to date versus budget,</li><li>Forecast work scopes, staffing needs (seasonal and permanent), and progress reports, and</li><li>Project performance and summaries.</li><li>Provide training and mentorship to colleagues including field staff, multi-departmental technical staff (including Environmental Specialists and Analysts), and Project Managers;</li><li>Actively participate in committees and work groups for the development and improvement of templates, work process and implementation of new technology and enhancements;</li><li>Encourage an open line of timely communication with your direct manager, and</li><li>Consult and engage with members of an expert, multi-disciplinary technical team for project support when necessary.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in project management, or environmental consulting, ideally with a mixed combination of these experience(s);</li><li>Relevant education, which may include a university degree (BSc or MSc) or a College diploma in Engineering, Ecology, Biology, or Environmental Science;</li><li>Registered member in good standing, or eligibility for registration, with a recognized applicable Professional Association, including but not limited to AIA, ASPB, and/or APEGA/APEGS;</li><li>Strong analytical and technical writing skills;</li><li>Proficient with Alberta and Saskatchewan regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamation;</li><li>Strong knowledge of methods for native grassland reclamation on minimum disturbance wellsites in sensitive land use areas;</li><li>Professional competency or qualifications to meet a minimum of one of the following practice areas or competencies, and working towards a second:<ul><li>Assessment, Remediation and Management of Contaminated Land;</li><li>Land Reclamation;</li><li>Land Conservation and Management; or,</li><li>Management</li></ul></li></ul>The following are considered an assetLeadership experience managing up to 5 direct reports of varying experience levels (junior to senior);Understanding of Saskatchewan reclamation and restoration guidelines and best practices.<h2>Company Info:</h2>Summit, An Earth Services Company has become the industry leader in the environmental services sector with operations in Canada, the United States, and Australia. Project Manager (Reclamation/Remediation)

SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join the Environmental Planning &amp; Management (EPM) Division as a Project Manager (Competition #25-04-0704) based in Calgary, or Lloydminster, Alberta. Reporting to the EPM Manager, this role will see you leading a group of technical specialists working with customers to provide project management and strategic advice through all phases of project lifecycle. This is a full-time leadership role that offers hybrid work arrangements, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote office work.<h2>What to Expect:</h2>As a “safety first” leader, you will be confident and competent in planning and leading biophysical assessments, coordinating projects and teams, and will act as the technical lead for your team.&nbsp; You will lead a team of dynamic biologists and technicians and apply your organizational and project management experience in a multi-disciplinary and dynamic capacity.&nbsp; You will be empowered to help mentor, train, and develop your team, support project queries and forecasts, and act as the direct project representative both internally and externally.<h2>Job Duties:</h2>Primary duties include leading/managing projects for the oil and gas, power and utilities, land development, and renewable energy sectors. In doing so, you will:Provide training and mentorship to a team of diverse professionals including wildlife biologists, contractors, and administrative support in a dynamic workplace.Support senior level reporting and technical writing of environmental assessments and permitting processes.Review technical reports related to environmental assessments and permitting and provide professional certification and sign-off.Plan, coordinate, and manage environmental projects, including permitting, budgets, schedules, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Lead business development initiatives and foster collaboration across multiple service lines to develop integrated environmental solutions.Facilitate the development and implementation of environmental monitoring, technical environmental programs, and biological data collection at existing and planned facilities.Ensure that Summit Health and Safety policies and procedures are implemented and followed in all work practices.Initiate quality control and independent reviews of project deliverables.Act as the primary point of contact for Summit customers regarding all project inquiries and updates.Cultivate strategic relationships with external stakeholders and industry networks to drive business development, expand service offerings, and identify growth opportunities.Contribute to proposal and pre-qualification submission processes.Manage/supervise a dynamic team including the administration and delivery of employee performance reviews, time and expense review, and overall coordination of project personnel.You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of technical administrators, business development professionals, in-house IT, GIS/drafting, and many other highly experienced, skilled and educated professionals including engineers, agrologists, biologists, and chemists.<h2>Qualifications:</h2>5-10 years of relevant environmental experience in progressively more independent and senior roles.A University degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in biology, environmental sciences, or a related field.Excellent communicator with proven interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills.History and proven experience building and maintaining productive professional relationships.Experience/familiarity working with current construction practices.Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Products.Experience in environmental permitting procedures including Temporary Field Authorizations (AKA: RTFs).The following are considered an assetExperience managing project budgets and schedules.Mentorship and Project Management experience.Experience with Alberta Public Lands Act permitting.Registered Professional Biologist and/or Agrologist, or ability to obtain one of these credentials.QAES and Authenticating Wetland Professional designations.
