<h3><strong>SUMMIT</strong>, <strong>An Earth Services Company</strong> is seeking a highly motivated and experienced senior level contaminated site assessment and remediation professional to join the Reclamation, Remediation, and Risk Management (RRRM) Division as a <strong>Senior Technical Specialist </strong>(Competition #25-02-0696). This is a full-time position and can either be based out of one of Summit’s offices (Calgary, Lloydminster, Grand Prairie, Brooks or Medicine Hat Alberta or Weyburn, Saskatchewan) or from a home office.</h3><h2><strong>What to Expect:</strong></h2><p>The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with both internal and external partners to ensure projects are executed on time.&nbsp; You will demonstrate critical thinking by analyzing complex situations, identifying key issues and developing innovative solutions.&nbsp; This role will act as a change advocate, swiftly adapting to shifting priorities and evolving project requirements.&nbsp; &nbsp;You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.</p><p>We are a people-first organization and encourage our team to embody our corporate core focus; “To build a great company with exceptional people to preserve and restore our natural environment.”</p><h2><strong>Job Duties:</strong></h2><p>You will carry out your duties in consultation with RRRM Project Managers. The primary duties include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Provide technical guidance on the management of contaminated sites, largely in the upstream oil and gas sector</li><li>Provide senior technical review on regulatory, environmental monitoring, and closure reports</li><li>Technical leader on Environmental Site Assessments, including remediation projects</li><li>Develop Environmental Site Assessment plans, including remedial action plans</li><li>Review technical reports</li><li>Mentor junior and intermediate staff</li><li>Some field responsibilities such as site visits and providing guidance to field personnel</li><li>Participation in company and client-specific health and safety programs</li></ul><h2><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h2><ul><li>10+ years environmental experience in the upstream oil and gas sector</li><li>Professional sign off on contaminated sites work in Alberta and Saskatchewan</li><li>Thorough understanding of the regulations and processes for contaminated sites management in Alberta and Saskatchewan</li><li>Experience with Tier 2 guideline development, both pathway exclusion and site-specific guideline adjustments</li><li>Subsoil Salinity Tool experience and certification is considered an asset</li><li>Experience in human health or ecological risk assessments is considered an asset</li><li>Knowledge and experience with Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act approvals</li><li>Strong communication and technical writing skills</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Teams</li></ul><p><strong>The following are considered an asset</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in rightsholder consultation (including regulatory consultation)</li><li>Hydrogeology experience</li><li>Consulting experience</li><li>Experience with OneStop, particularly with record of site condition submissions</li></ul><h2><strong>Company Info:</strong></h2><p>Summit, An Earth Services Company has become the industry leader in the environmental services sector with operations in Canada, the United States, and Australia.
