<p>Argus is a fully equipped machining, engineering and design facility based in Edmonton and Nisku, Alberta. We manufacture a diverse range of superior quality OCTG products. Our facilities include over 100,000 square feet of engineering, manufacturing, threading, assembly, and test space.&nbsp;</p><p><br>&nbsp;</p><p>The successful candidate will be curious with a troubleshooting mindset; combining experience and a problem-solving approach to repair and maintain equipment and machine tools. &nbsp;</p><p>Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machine tools within the Argus facilities.</p><h2>What You'll Do:</h2><ul><li>Complete routine maintenance work on equipment and machines, as per the Argus preventative maintenance task sheets and schedules.</li><li>Deliver maintenance and repair schedule as directed by the Maintenance Supervisors, ensuring quality and customer requirements are met..</li><li>Deliver current schedules of repair / maintenance for the Argus machines, equipment and buildings.</li><li>Evaluate machinery and equipment condition, reporting concerns to the Maintenance Supervisors.</li><li>Troubleshoot and provide emergency unscheduled repairs on machines which are not working. Advise downtime information to the Maintenance Supervisor.</li><li>Read and understand drawings, manuals and specifications to assess machine functionality and assist in making repairs and/ or adjustments to machine tools</li><li>Advise Maintenance Supervisor or Manager of machine parts and specialty tools to be ordered to keep machines and equipment running.</li><li>Operate all machines and equipment within the shops and use shop tools, as required, to determine and deliver maintenance needs.</li><li>Work to deliver/ achieve department KPIs on a monthly/ annual basis. Work with team to identify and deliver improvements as required.</li></ul><h2>What You Bring:</h2><ul><li>Registered Journeyman Certificate in the Millwright trade.</li><li>3+ years’ experience operating machine tools or equipment.</li><li>High school diploma and/or other relevant &nbsp;trade credentials would be an asset.</li><li>Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.</li></ul><h2>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:</h2><ul><li>Machine shop environment with extended walking/ standing, limited sitting.&nbsp;</li><li>Working wearing personal protective equipment.</li><li>Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.</li></ul><p>At Argus, our core values are more than just words, they’re a way of life. Our facilities include over 100,000 square feet of engineering, manufacturing, threading, assembly, and test space.&nbsp;</p><p><br>&nbsp;</p><p>The successful candidate will be curious and have a troubleshooting mindset, combining experience and a problem-solving approach to repair and maintain equipment and machine tools. &nbsp;</p><h2>Location: Nisku, AB</h2><h2>Purpose:</h2><p>Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Apprentice Millwright is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machine tools within the Argus facilities.</p><h2>Accountabilities:</h2><p>Working with the Journeyman millwrights, the role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Deliver maintenance and repair schedule as directed by the Maintenance Supervisors, ensuring quality and customer requirements are met.</li><li>Complete routine maintenance work on equipment and machine tools, as per the Argus preventative maintenance task sheets and schedules.</li><li>Evaluate machine tools and equipment condition, reporting concerns to the Maintenance Supervisors.</li><li>Troubleshoot and provide unscheduled repairs on equipment and machine tools which are not working. Advise downtime information to the Maintenance Supervisor.</li><li>Read and understand drawings, manuals and specifications to assess machine functionality and assist in making repairs and/ or adjustments to machine tools.</li><li>Advise the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager of machine parts and specialty tools to be ordered to keep machines and equipment running.</li><li>Operate all machines and equipment within the shops and use shop tools, as required, to determine and deliver maintenance needs.</li><li>Record measurements and write service reports to streamline future repairs.</li><li>Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans.</li><li>Work with the team to identify and deliver improvements as required.</li></ul><h2>Position qualifications and experience:</h2><ul><li>Registered apprentice with completion of first year as a minimum</li><li>Machine shop experience and a 2nd trade as a Machinist will be an asset.</li><li>Experience, attitude and aptitude to diagnose and fix equipment and machine tools.</li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles and the ability to impart that knowledge to others.</li></ul><h2>Working conditions and physical requirements:</h2><ul><li>Machine shop environment with extended walking/ standing, limited sitting.&nbsp;</li><li>Working wearing personal protective equipment.</li><li>Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.</li></ul><p>At Argus, our core values are more than just words; they’re a way of life.
