POSITION SUMMARYApprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.PROJECT DETAILS<ul><li>Site is at the Cenovus Foster Creek facility on the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range</li><li>Shift is 8 on/6 off</li><li>12 hour days</li><li>Final day of shift is an 8 hour day, and then travel for days off</li><li>$300/shift travel allowance&nbsp;</li><li>Camp accommodations provided</li></ul>CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES<ul><li>Read and&nbsp;interpret&nbsp;red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&amp;ID’s, etc.)</li><li>Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site&nbsp;</li><li>Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages</li><li>Prepare pipe&nbsp;and fittings&nbsp;for tacking, hoisting, and rigging</li><li>Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility</li><li>Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape</li><li>Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems</li><li>Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSEducation<ul><li>Must be a registered 3rd year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority</li></ul>Training<ul><li>Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets - CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO will not be accepted</li></ul>SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, &amp; ABILITIES<ul><li>Must be able to pass pre-employment drug &amp; alcohol testing</li><li>Able to lift 50 pounds</li><li>Comfortable working outdoors</li></ul>Why work for Strike:Based in Western Canada with a head office in Calgary, Alberta, we provide energy and industrial construction and maintenance services across the largest geographical area in Canada.At Strike, we continuously demonstrate leadership, drive, creativity, and initiative.
