Job Summary:The Project Engineer is a full-time position reporting to the VP, Engineering. As a member of the Engineering Team, the Project Engineer is responsible for the support of the field operations team and equipment, the design and development of new equipment, Field inspections, modifications &amp; repairs, work with the sales team and help generate more work for the company.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Create repair procedures &amp; supervise field repairs and modifications as required.</li></ul>Perform Field inspections as per API 4G &amp; CAODC RP’s<ul><li>Performing mechanical/Structural engineering analysis using hand calculations, finite element analysis and other computer aided design techniques</li><li>Properly file and store all analysis performed in accordance with the engineering departments’ storage processes &amp; procedures</li><li>Develop schedules on all jobs and comply with the same</li><li>Ensure that all work performed is engineered in accordance with customer spec’s</li><li>Act as a liaison between other departments when necessary to ensure the success of the project</li><li>Conduct and generate presentations and proposals to clients on the basis of sales to gain work for the company.</li><li>Carries out necessary preplanning to examine scope of work and services, engineering quality and quantities, financial and contractual obligations and division of responsibility to control and report on planning and scheduling activities.</li><li>Provide documentation and cost estimates to clients based on best practices.</li><li>Initiate corrective action for any unsafe or environmentally unsound condition. Report situation in accordance with company regulations and procedures.</li><li>Provide complete and accurate weekly reports to management.</li></ul>Technical Competencies:<ul><li>Strong computer skills</li></ul>Behavioral Competencies<ul><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy in a fast paced and dynamic environment is critical</li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Civil Discipline (APEGA registration as P.Eng)&nbsp;</li><li>5 - 10 years of experience with Oil Field Equipment Design &amp; Inspections</li><li>Experience in Manufacturing Processes and Design (Structural Design, Weld Calculations, and FEA) is considered an asset as well as familiarity with API 4F and 8C.</li><li>Experience working with SAFI, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Ansys is preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy in a fast paced and dynamic environment is critical.</li><li>Familiar and experience with API 4G &amp; CAODC Recommended Practices</li><li>Must be willing to Travel and be available on weekends for emergency situations</li><li>Not afraid of Heights</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Must be willing to travel and be available on weekends for emergency situations&nbsp;</li><li>Willing to work on rigs and onsite locations</li></ul>Additional Accountabilities:<ul><li>Business Ethics – Understands fully Ensign’s ethics policy and its application in all business dealings including contractual agreements and contract negotiations</li><li>Business Policies - Understands and agrees to follow all of Ensign’s Policy and Directives and procedures as set forth in the Ensign Company Policy and Basic Directives Handbook for Employees</li><li>Certifications – Maintains technical and safety certifications required by company or government agencies; remains current on all OSHA, EUSD and other required training</li><li>Drug-free workplace - Conforms to a drug-free workplace, not be under the influence of mind-altering prescription or non-prescription drugs, including alcohol and other drugs of abuse.</li><li>Occupational Health and Safety – Understands fully the Ensign Health and Safety policy and self-responsibility for own health and safety at work;&nbsp; Demonstrates responsibility to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of others through any act or omission<ul><li>Uses the correct protective clothing and equipment as provided by Ensign and guards against misuse or damage to such equipment</li><li>Reports any hazardous situations arising in the workplace that cannot be self-corrected, or injury incurred during the course of work, no matter how minor</li></ul></li><li>Avoids injury resulting from manual handling tasks, by use of risk assessment, correct mechanical handling equipment and correct manual handling techniques</li></ul>
