This position will be responsible for deal set up through checkout and ensuring contracts flow to downstream processes for timely enrollment, in accordance with operations and utility guidelines. The Sales Support Associate will collect, research, and verify customer account information to accurately price and generate power and natural gas proposals and contracts. The Sales Support Associate will be expected be able to help teammates and Account Executives navigate roadblocks with deals and systems and have a superior knowledge of and relationships with the other functional groups with which Sales interacts. The Sales Support Associate should have a continuous improvement mentality and look for opportunities to enhance NRG’s processes and be able to participate in improvement efforts and UAT testing.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>Collect and verify Power and Natural Gas usage information.</li><li>Ensure accurate deal structure of Power, Natural Gas, and other product offerings.</li><li>Generate and review contracts for various product offerings.&nbsp; Assist in contract renewal efforts. Identify customers up for renewal and provide updated pricing</li><li>Adjudicate and approve credit for small customers via utility invoice review and internal pay history review</li><li>Meet with customers and channel partners as necessary in the presentation of pricing or post sales account management</li><li>Act as a liaison between the sales originators, customers, sales channels, and operations departments to resolve customer issues</li><li>Provide expertise in the use of CRM and pricing systems, and assist in execution of process and system changes</li><li>Process and book incoming contracts within SLA and avoid any margin erosion due to market shift.</li><li>Confirm pricing for both Gas and Power contracts to ensure valid before commodity is purchased</li><li>Monitor and report on all transactional activity within the Canadian and vendor platforms</li><li>Produce ad-hoc customer reports</li><li>Research and resolve enrollment failures, and dropped customer accounts to minimize any negative financial impact</li><li>Maintain knowledge on commodity and Solutions products, contract terms and conditions, DE risk policy and internal processes.</li><li>Follow all Sales, Legal and Contract Administration policies and procedures to avoid and minimize financial risk.</li><li>Contribute to integration projects as needed</li><li>Assist with general sales projects (e.g., CRM clean-up)</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Open office environment.</li><li>Hybrid work location.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Minimal Travel Required</li></ul>Minimum Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in business or marketing or specific energy market-related experience required.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum of 1 year of energy experience or 4-year degree with related applicability to business, economics, sales, or marketing</li></ul>Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>Strong collaboration skills with multi-functional teams across NRG.</li><li>In-depth understanding of retail energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and wholesale markets.</li><li>Proficient in spreadsheet and database applications.</li><li>Outstanding oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and deadline orientation.</li><li>Commitment to working with a sense of urgency.</li><li>Team player with strong leadership skills.</li><li>Proactive and creative problem-solving attitude.</li><li>Positive and inspiring demeanor to motivate team members.</li><li>Demonstrated curiosity about emerging technologies, particularly in the areas of automation, AI, and large language models (LLMs), with an interest in applying them to improve sales or operational efficiency.</li><li>Adaptability and willingness to take on rotational opportunities across sales, operations, or strategic projects.</li><li>Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.</li><li>Enthusiasm for continuous learning and upskilling; experience with or interest in tools like Power BI, Power Apps, or Power Automate is a plus.</li></ul>
