The ideal candidate should be capable of meeting established safety, quality, and production standards. &nbsp;Responsibilities:<ul><li>Demonstrates a commitment to a safe work environment. Understands the safety objectives of the organization and supports these efforts visibly.</li><li>Ensure the safe and timely execution of work on multiple projects with multiple crews and activities.</li><li>Lead foremen in coordinating daily tasks, including personnel, equipment, materials, productions, and schedules.</li><li>Ensure Crews are working safely and all Lafarge Safety documentation is completed daily.</li><li>Estimate work requirements to complete project assignments and schedule requirements.</li><li>Coordinate daily with the project manager, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, inspectors, and owner's representatives.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of best paving practices to meet requirements and specifications.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of asphalt paving, including grade establishment and layout etc.</li><li>Conduct hazard assessments, tailgate meetings, and all other required documentation.</li><li>Interviewing and onboarding prospective new employees.</li><li>Ability to accurately read plans and specifications.</li><li>Ability to track and report daily job productions and job coding.</li><li>Ability to both lead by example and delegate responsibilities effectively within a team.</li><li>Efficiently operate support equipment.</li><li>Assist in executing the work as necessary.</li><li>Complete and submit all paperwork to review daily costs in a timely manner.</li><li>Coordinate and track material deliveries, trucking, equipment, and manpower.</li><li>Develop paving schedules, including material type/quantities of material meeting project specifications.</li><li>Planning and coordinating trucking start time, location, crew, and equipment.</li><li>Proficient and competent in heavy construction equipment.</li><li>Able to deal with difficult situations and resolve issues between co-workers, teammates, etc.</li><li>Able to utilize resources and crew members efficiently&nbsp;</li><li>Monitor and approve daily field logs</li><li>Ensure that expectations are clearly defined to workers&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Experience in Bid2Win, Site-docs &amp; Fleet watcher and asset.</li><li>Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.</li></ul>Qualifications and qualities:The successful applicant will possess the following:<ul><li>Class 5 driver’s license</li><li>10 years of asphalt experience or 5+ years’ experience as lead hand, sub foreperson</li><li>Ability to proficiently operate and train on all paving equipment</li><li>Must be willing to work overtime, nights and in all weather conditions</li><li>High quality of workmanship</li><li>Effective leader, team player, and communicator</li><li>Strong conflict resolution skills</li><li>Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required</li><li>Multi-tasking ability; must be flexible and balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines</li><li>Excellent customer service skills – dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers</li><li>Must be flexible and balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines</li><li>Excellent leadership skills - must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct and actionable feedback</li><li>Possess a commitment to and willingness to devote great effort and time in order to reach goals</li><li>Ability to make decision is a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete data and under tight deadlines and pressure</li><li>Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions</li></ul>&nbsp;Competencies:<ul><li>Conflict Resolution</li><li>Leadership and mentorship ability</li><li>Effective Communicator</li><li>Ability to motivate and influence</li><li>Practical fault finding analysis</li><li>Budgeting and scheduling</li></ul>In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team.
