POSITION SUMMARY – PROJECT SUPERINTENDENTThe Construction Superintendent will manage and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, and trade contractor and supplier coordination and work in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team.&nbsp; They provide technical management and project leadership on construction projects at the field level. Responsibilities include; directing the day to day activities onsite; planning crew activities in the short and long turn; resolving field construction issues; field level client relations; maintaining Strike’s high standard of safety and quality; managing small-to medium-sized projects or directing one portion of a major project, and overseeing proper protocols in the field.POSITION LOCATION/ DETAILS<ul><li>Projects located in the Fort St. John area</li><li>Local candidates preferred</li><li>LOA or Camp provided for non-local candidates depending on specific job site location</li><li>$500/shift travel allowance</li><li>15/6 rotation with potential for longer outage shifts</li></ul>CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES<ul><li>Reporting to the Project Manager provide oversight, planning and supervision for all disciplines of the project</li><li>Manage the crews, sub-contractors and all other resources in order to complete the job</li><li>Build a competitively superior organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent to ensure that people with the right skills and motivations are in the right place, at the right time to meet business needs</li><li>Conduct daily site safety toolbox meetings</li><li>Actively participate in the construction planning and scheduling</li><li>Maintain regular contact with client representatives on contract issues, schedule, delivery, and technical issues</li><li>Manage materials, tools and equipment required for the project</li><li>Lead the overall implementation to insure that the project is constructed in a timely and cost effective manner</li><li>Work closely with HR to recruit, hire and change manpower</li><li>If required, manage project budget, and project resource allocation</li><li>Ensure all field personnel complete required safety training and hold appropriate tickets</li><li>Ensure all field personnel comply with project procedures, safety requirements, and work and equipment maintenance procedures</li><li>Ensure all equipment and facilities are operated and maintained in accordance with approved company standards and practices</li><li>Document all violations and incidents</li></ul>EXPERIENCE<ul><li>At least 6-10 years of experience in a superintendent role</li><li>Must have Brownfield Plant/Compressor Station Experience with knowledge of civil, below ground, &amp; above ground piping</li></ul>SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, &amp; ABILITIES<ul><li>Solid understanding of construction methods and blueprint reading</li><li>Sound knowledge of construction execution and best practices</li><li>Superior leadership skills</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office</li><li>Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills</li><li>Capable of participating in and facilitating group meetings</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills</li><li>Meticulous record-keeping skills</li><li>Capable of working independently with minimal direction</li><li>Possesses an eye for detail</li></ul>Why work for Strike:Based in Western Canada with a head office in Calgary, Alberta, we provide energy and industrial construction and maintenance services across the largest geographical area in Canada.At Strike we continuously demonstrate leadership, drive, creativity, and initiative.
