The segment includes product lines that design and manufacture products and provide services to help operators find, evaluate, drill, and refine hydrocarbons. In this specific position the focus will be supporting the refinery and energy production facilities in Ontario, Canada.

Baker Hughes is currently looking for a chemical engineering or chemistry technician to assist in the monitoring of specialized applications in the field of industrial petrochemicals.
The candidate for this position will assist the Service Delivery Representative and Service Delivery Manager of Baker Hughes in all the tasks related to their activities with our customers and particularly in the follow-up of various chemical additive programs (fieldwork, laboratory and office work).
As an Downstream Chemicals Operations Specialist, you will be responsible:
- Performance and reliability monitoring of chemical applications
- Collection of samples and operational data on site
- Carrying out various daily laboratory work
- Data processing and analysis
- Inventory management of various specialty products
- Assist in the delivery of bulk truck deliveries and tote transfers (chemical)
- Participate in the development and economic justification of technical projects
- Manage and supervise various temporary chemical treatment projects (as needed)
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a College Diploma with more than three years of experience
- Have solid experience in Heavy Industry (refinery, steel plants, power plants, renewable fuels)
- Demonstrate knowledge of Refinery Process and Finished Fuels Additive and water treatment
- Have a solid understanding of demulsification, corrosion control, fouling control, water treatment (boilers, WWTP, cooling towers), and finished fuel additives
- Show proficiency in IT such as MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Demonstrate good communication with interpersonal skills and an ability to build trusting relationships with teams and customers
- Be a motivated self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to lead and solve problems
- Be able to work at height and able to lift 50 pounds
- Good knowledge of water treatment
