What You Will Do:

  • Operate the Computer Numerically Controlled Machine
  • Able to operate the configuration of 2 CNC Cells
  • Able to operate Sinker Bar CNC and Mill
  • Participate in the Overall Equipment Effectiveness program
  • Assist crane operators when needed
  • Perform visual and gauging inspections
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required
  • Troubleshoot as required
  • Complete all associated paperwork, including but not limited to, quality plans and cleaning plans
  • Work in a safe manner, follow all rules, regulations and legislations
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing guidelines

Position Details:

  • Working at the South Edmonton facility exclusively  
  • Permanent
  • Full-time
  • Rotating shift between day and afternoon shift (night shift may be required dependent on business conditions)
  • Weekend shift may be required dependent on business conditions

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with CNC setups required
  • Mathematical aptitude required (equations, trigonometry)
  • Must be able to read blueprints and drawings
  • Must be able to read and understand basic programming
  • Working knowledge of G & M codes required
  • Experience with Okuma, HAAS, Fanuc controls required
  • Understanding and working knowledge of measuring equipment is required
  • Organized, flexible and able to multi-task
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Reliable
  • High attention to detail

Physical Demands

  • Pre-employment testing including drug & alcohol, vision, auditory, background check and physical demands assessment required upon hire
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours/day

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of dual spindle and indexing chuck operations
  • Familiarity of API threads

Certifications:  

  • CNC Basic certificate and/or CNC turning center certificate preferred
