The Roller Operator will be responsible for the compaction of asphalt by operating the roller machine behind the paving machine to obtain the proper density and finish texture at work sites.
Responsibilities
• Must be familiar with Municipal, Commercial, Industrial, Residential rolling practices.
• Operates roller machine to compress asphalt to maintain a smooth surface.
• Able to establish rolling patterns in order to achieve compaction.
• Must have the initiative, ability and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions – plate tamping, hand tamping etc.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Daily maintenance of equipment including fluids and water systems.
• Provides day to day roller services and looks for ways to improve maintenance process or services on an ongoing basis.
• Follows all safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards.
Qualification Profile
• 3-5 years’ experience required.
• Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and an ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, as necessary.
