Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy
As our Business Intelligence Intern, you will be responsible for problem solving and brainstorming the best ways to design and develop unique solutions to solve our customers’ challenges. These solutions play a critical role in allowing Secure to maximize end to end value both internally and for the delivery of service to SECURE’s customers.
This role is based out of Calgary, Alberta
The Team
SECURE’s Business Intelligence team is a collaborative, innovative group that thrives on tackling challenging problems to drive meaningful, data-driven decisions across the organization. A Day in The Life
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Executive, HR, ESG, Technology, Health & Safety, Sales) to understand business requirements and implement data-driven analytics solutions.
- Design and develop solutions that address customer challenges, maximizing value for SECURE’s internal processes and service delivery.
- Analyze datasets to uncover insights and translate findings into business value, supporting fact-based decision-making across the organization.
- Present complex analytics and insights to non-technical, business-focused audiences.
- Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines, adapting to a fast-paced and changing work environment.
Skills, Experience, & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post secondary institution, with a related major such as; computer science, engineering, business management, or information technology.
- Some foundational knowledge with business intelligence is an asset and the ideal candidate should have a strong interest in learning more about the area of business intelligence and how it relates to the driving value in an organization
- Some exposure and working experience using; Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Some exposure and even some technical proficiency in the use of programming languages like SQL/Python / R.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Strong critical thinking and proactive approach to challenges
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and handle changing priorities
- Effective collaboration within diverse teams
- Ability to take initiative. Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward new challenges and improvements
