Job Description

Coating Operator, in Nisku, Alberta, will be responsible for the internal coating of used tubulars and related goods. Work is physical in nature and includes tasks such as: cleaning, blasting, and coating pipe, operating an overhead crane and related equipment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Mixing/adding coating to system, thread spray application, housekeeping, pipe handling, and operating overhead crane.
  • You will mentor trainees, follow basic safety rules and applicable safe work practices and procedure.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards in the workplace.
  • Equipment operation, set-up, and adjustment in a safe manner.
  • Ensure safety of co-workers and safe work requirements.
  • Authority to correct improper work habits of trainees and stop assigned work activities if unsafe conditions exist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school education with the ability to read, write and speak a minimum amount of English to perform job duties
  • Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred
  • Previous Coating experience is an ASSEST

HSE Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a shop environment. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and changes of temperature/humidity. 
  • Physical requirements: squatting, bending, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 23 kilograms, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment.
  • Required to at all times wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform duties in a safe manner.
