Overview:

Lafarge is searching for a Community Connections & Sourcing Coordinator to develop a strategy for targeted events, programs, and associations to attract underrepresented talent in untapped markets. This role will seek new opportunities to educate, source, and attract talent for our operational trades and labour roles, and maintain a viable pipeline and network of qualified talent.
The Community Connections Coordinator leverages creative sources, social media platforms, professional organizations, educational programs, and community associations to promote Lafarge Canada’s brand, and to network, identify and attract new talent across numerous markets.
This is a full-time, office based opportunity. Visits to work sites and community partners will be required as is a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Approximate travel requirement within Alberta is 25%.
Responsibilities:
- Consults with the HR Managers, Talent team and market business partners to understand market trends, resources, and opportunities to advance and build the talent pipeline
- Learns the talent needs of all product lines within the AB market and collaborates with the HR Managers, Talent team, and operational managers to build a sourcing strategy
- Proactive and ongoing building of a database of contacts and leads to connect with and create opportunities to market trades and labour based roles at Lafarge as an exciting career opportunity
- Build connections with school boards, individual high schools, post-secondary institutions, community groups for newcomers to Canada, indigenous associations, organizations supporting women in trades, etc.
- Acts as a brand ambassador of Lafarge Canada, bringing our employee value proposition to life
- Fosters strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients
- Effectively promotes Lafarge Canada and business-specific brands across numerous markets and professional communities
- Supports and attends recruiting events
- Tracks successes through metric driven information and makes recommendations for enhancements based on data insights
- Researches and provides business intelligence and market data to support ongoing sourcing initiatives
- Maintains accurate and well-ordered documentation on prospects, searches, hiring manager interactions, and other sourcing activities to ensure Company and legal compliance with employment practices, policies, processes, and applicable laws
- Supports the Talent team on “hard to fill” roles in the AB market by directly sourcing candidates, building targeted headhunting strategies and screening candidates
- Continually coordinates and documents communication with operational Managers and external stakeholders and partners; provides feedback on screening of prospects; assures timely action with recruiters to schedule and communicate movement of prospects through various pre-interview stages.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduation from a Business, Human Resources or Marketing degree program within the past two years
Experience & Skill Set:
- Customer service related experience
- Inside/outside sales experience an asset
- Proven experience attending networking events and building a business network
- Experience with full cycle recruitment an asset
- Building relationships rooted in trust
